Thank you for your write up. We have experienced severe floods of late as have many parts of the Southern African continent which makes it difficult to sort out water supply for gas / solar geysers in a hurry. Either you were here just after this or the gas cylinder to the geysers ran out which they do and hence...

This is not a 5* hotel, it is a backpacker's and therefore this should be kept in mind when visiting. For a backpackers, I found the staff extremely friendly, the rooms cozy and the common area very welcoming and warm (we went there during snow). The nature outside is obviously breathtaking and my most memorable part was having a hot...

Spent the weekend here to get out of the city. Highly recommend staying in one of the rondavels. Even during the heat of the afternoon, the rondavel was nice and cool. The self-service kitchen was really clean, and had everything we needed to cook our meals. If you can, request to take a day trip up Sani Pass with Matthew....

Thank you for your detailed review of your stay with us. The rondavels are built in the traditional African style with clay walls and thatch grass roofing offering good insulation in both summer and winter. The tour guides who work for our tour company Drakensberg Adventures are very knowledgeable and committed to respectful cultural engagement with communities all over Lesotho,...

We're a long term traveling couple and the Sani Lodge is one of the first places in Southern-Africa that had everything for us. We hitchhiked up the Sani Pass (was very easy) and were welcomed with beautifull views over the drakensberg. The next days we hiked each day 4-12hours and could Always come back to a warm shower and good...

We absolutely loved our 5 night stay here. We moved rooms a couple of times due to other bookings, so we experienced two of the rondavels and the standard room. The rondavels in particular were excellent, with the heaters very useful in the evenings. The whole environmental and social ethos of Sani Lodge is extremely impressive and right up our...

Thanks for your outline of your stay with us and we are glad that we could accommodate you indoors. Sani Lodge Backpackers is a great place to visit. The road getting there is part of making this place really spacial. We came in from Pietermaritzburg side and went out towards Kokstad. This is a really spacial place to visit and recharge. Be sure not to only spend 1 night there. Enjoy
