We felt as though we couldn't leave Germany without staying in a castle. And yes, this is a real castle, with not one, but two moats to cross. It exceeded all our expectations. The grounds were immaculate, the rooms were very generous, the buffet breakfast was delicious. To top it off there is a playground and trampolines for the kids....

I revisited this castle last week after visiting two years ago and everything was just as good as I remember. What a perfect place. Some of the staff could speak some English which was most helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel high enough. The grounds are beautiful. There still is a café and a gift shop in the grounds. Of...

You get it! It is a real castle on the water with a beautiful garden and amazing flowers. We liked all about this Schloss except internet: it is only one gadget per room and as fast as a snail! Room was big and the bad was enormous:) The restaurant is very good but also slow.

Very impressive hotel and grounds. Beautiful gardens and very well maintained. Room was very large but tiny shower! No tea making facilities in room which would have been nice as breakfast was not served till 9am. It is also a pity that the dining room is in the cellar. With such lovely grounds, it would have been so nice to...

Lovely place with lovely grounds and rooms. We were nearly there by ourselves and truly felt like king/queen of the castle. Breakfast was a little meager but freshly made eggs offered so more than adequate. Stairs to room can be a little daunting but views from the room over the moat and grounds made it worthwhile. Museum tour was interesting...

The drive up to the castle is an experience itself. Though you should arrive by daylight. It is a fabulous castle which is almost in its original state. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and serves good and honest food. The staff is very friendly and flexible. If it's not on the menu, they...

It was a wonderful Valentine's Day! We got the Four Seasons room, which has a great view to the park behind the castle (wonderful park btw). The water reflection on the ceiling at night was also beautiful. The restaurant has a short menu, but very good still. Only two things were kinda lame: the pillows are a little uncomfortable and...

Very special place with lovely grounds and comfortable rooms. The staff were very helpful and the cellar restaurant with its different rooms was very atmospheric and the food was tasty and well presented. The walk in the corridors to our room was amazing with old pictures, warm wood floors and panelling and great views from every window.

This is a beautiful castle situated on some amazing property! Our room was absolutely huge, and the bathroom large. The view from every window was stunning. The gardens at the back are lovely, and my only wish was that we had more time to spend here. There is a town not too far away with plenty of restaurants. The only...

This place was a real find! We loved the dining al fresco taking all the recommendations of the waitress; room was spacious and cool, views from the room impressive. We cycled around the surrounding area before having dinner. Wonderful restful place.
