Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed for 1 night for Olivia Douglas. Stayed in one of the new rooms. Warm, clean and basic. Owner couldn’t do enough to help us and was very friendly. Breakfast was lovely too. Will definitely be back ! Great dance floor too. Easy to find and brilliant parking.

We stayed for a couple of nights. The room was clean and very comfortable and with a great shower. Also serve a decent breakfast in the morning. Not five star accommodation by any means but for the prices they charge you certainly can't complain. Excellent value for money and will definitely use again

We stayed here when we enjoyed the country music show starring Marty Haggard on 3rd May 2016. Good welcome on arrival. Room was clean, bed very comfortable, and shower was powerful. Not sure if there was any free wi-if as my phone wouldn't work so had it switched off. Was amazed that they still served breakfast beyond 11am which was a great help as we'd had a late night. Good breakfast, cooked and served by very friendly staff. All in all a pleasant stay. PS Brilliant entertainment too!

We attended for a biker event last weekend. The breakfast was good although room was a bit miserable and hot but the bedroom, well what can I say..... disgraceful. We were in room 214 on the 2nd floor. It was a 4 bed room so was a big room there was only one ceiling light working. Requested a bulb for the other ceiling light or even bedside lamps so we could see. Ignored. Only one plug in the room which is no good whatsoever. Looked like the ceiling was going to collapse and there was mould. Bathroom was awful, shower was too small and the door fell off.. The fire extinguisher was last serviced in 2016 which says a lot. Its a shame cause we stayed here last year but in a different part of the building and was fine. Serious work needs done to the rooms on the 2nd floor. Our friends made the same kind of comments about the room across the landing. They shouldn't be used in the state they're in. Won't be back.

It's a nice venue but rooms are in terrible condition - mold on the walls, mattresses very old and uncomfortable. Everything in the room very old and tired. I won't even comment on the condition of the toilet...
Bar section is ok but again toilets are in terrible condition. I definitely not recommended to stay there overnight.

Traveled all the way from Cork to attend a funeral in Offaly, the rooms were pre-booked for us by a family member who lives in the vicinity. When we arrived there was a party in full swing, the receptionist was drunk and dropped our rooms keys a number of times. The place is filthy I wouldn't allow my dog to stay in it, I was considering sleeping in the car when I got a look at the rooms, absolutely disgusting. We where a group of three and our rooms where miles apart, the music was blaring until 5am. The manager verbally attacked me whilst under the influence of alcohol. The security is a total and utter disgrace, one of my companions accidentally discovered that each of our room keys opened all the rooms in the so called "B&B" which is just shocking, when my companion approached the manager about this he was accosted in the same manner I was. The morning after a night from hell we went into another form of hell, The Well's breakfast. The dining room stank, it was dark and dirty. Our tea was cold, the toast was cold, the food was cold. Just vile.

On checking out there was no sign of management or seasoned staff (all still in bed.... Still drunk).

I am a very down to earth person, I never complain but my god this place is a sespit.

If you value comfort, respect, cleanliness, security and well being.... Stay the hell away from this hell hole.

Every reputable establishment that books him and finds out who is all cancel his gig. Surly with your good reputation you don't want to be associated with that vile creature. If he plays I myself and many of my friends who are good patroons of the Well will never darken it's door again and will pass it on to many more. The power of fb is amazing so do the honourable thing and cancelled his gig 👋👋👋

We arrived at the hotel. It seemed dark , damp, and dusty. Very basic room. Price also basic. We went social dancing. Very good evening, whole hotel could do with cosmetic work. Has lots of potential.. Best of all was breakfast. Female staff very helpful. Male staff a bit rough looking. Will not be returning.

stopped at this hotel for a weekend, well where do i start, first room was so small the bathroom door would not open as the bed was so close, so got moved to another room, which was bigger, but that was in really bad need of total clean, bathroom was the worst i have ever seen, thought better keep my shoes on to go in there, no plug for sink, shower was very dirty and did not work, bed well every spring had popped through the mattress, no doors on the wardrobe, door kept opening, had to keep it locked at all times, kettle did not work, dirty stained chairs, mould all round the windows, lamps did not work, state of hotel poor, dirty, needs a good overall, and a hover, was woken in the night by an alarm going off no one knew what it was, no one did any thing, when i reported the shower not working, was told that they would give me keys to another room for a shower but to hand them back, they would not move us, so had to, go begging to other people for a shower, as could not even have awash as no plug for the sink, i had to use a towel to clean bathroom floor it was so dirty, breakfast was a wait for some one to turn up and start it, can see why they make you pay before you get the keys to your room, i would not put a person in these rooms and charge for them, was glad to get out of there, staff where friendly and nice did their best, they seemed to have to do every thing, place wouldbe nice if they did it up, but that will cost a lot think its had its day,

Stayed with 2 friends Saturday Night, it looks pretty bad on outside BUT the room had 3 single beds, was spotless, airy, quiet and very comfortable. We were going to the races and the owner dropped us off there and made sure we were ok for getting in. When we came back to the well he had a table reserved for us, we had toasted sambo's at the end of night free of charge. Breakfast was lovely whatever you wanted was there except fresh fruit. For the people that slept in till after 11am, one of the girls knocked on there doors to see if they wanted food. We stayed in room till about 1pm, no pressure to leave at all. Great night was had by all. Thanks Declan.
