Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had our Son’s Communion Meal here and it was fantastic, from the moment we arrived we were looked after, the staff went above and beyond at times with some elderly family members, they were the nicest friendliest staff you could ask for, made the communion Boy feel special and all the family loved the meal, food was excellent not one complaint from over 20 guests in our party, we would definitely hold another occasion here at the grand hotel.

Good abiemce in the hotel. We had a meal and they served excellent food and have very friendly and efficient staff. The food was cooked to perfection and made with fresh produce. It is in a very central location and plenty of parking outside the hotel.

Really delicious meal served on a Saturday evening. Really nice buzz in the restaurant and staff could not have been nicer. I had the striploin steak and my husband had the fillet - both delicious with large sides! Chicken Caesar salad to start. We had 4 courses for €39 which is so reasonable. I’ll definitely return!

Met some friends for Carvery Lunch on Sunday. It was busy but service was prompt. The food was your typical carvery I had turkey and ham and it was very tasty my other half had the beef and again said it was tasty. Generous portions. For me the veg a little overcooked but if my Mam was with me she’d have loved it so it’s down to personal preference. The gravy was lovely. Our friends cleared their plates too. We stayed long into the afternoon having drinks and had a nice time in relaxing surroundings with friendly staff.

My wife and I stayed here for one night while visiting family in Moate. The bedroom was a basic, no frills room, but comfortable bed and nice hot shower in the ensuite. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning, served up by a lovely friendly lady who had checked us in the previous day. Would recommend to all, especially for the friendly staff who couldn't have been nicer, we look forward to staying here again!
