Detailed Reviews
Granville House is a beautiful old house converted into four or five self-catering apartments. The apartment we stayed in was spacious with a large double bedroom, a comfortable living room with dining table, a fine kitchen with all the necessary equipment and devices, and a large shower/bathroom. The apartment styling was “old house” but nicely done. It was clean and relaxing and we cooked a meal for some visiting friends which felt just like cooking at home. I got a glimpse of another apartment and it was totally different in style and decoration, so I assume all the apartments are individually designed. I checked on the website (granvillehouse.ie) and there are photos of all the apartments. Our hostess, Breege was a joy to deal with and was a mine of knowledge on the area.

This is just the best place to stay with children. Stayed in a yurt with 2 adults and 2 children (very comfy beds I must add) . Bathroom is lovely. Everything you need in the kitchen and a bbq and firepit. But.... it is the owner Breege that just makes it. This is our 3rd visit. Friends stayed in a separate yurt. We had such a great time thanks to the warm welcome from Breege (must mention her morning pancakes, scones, bread etc even though no breakfast supposed to be included) .... she is just such a lovely ,welcoming host and so kind to all the children. The sauna is a lovely addition especially after a swim in the sea down the road. I couldn't recommend this place enough. We all love it. Children love playing in the gardens. Had 6 children with us in total from age 6 to 14 andthey were all happy out. Plus less than 5 mins walk to local pubs that all serve good food and drinks.... fantastic family holiday. Met other families there who all felt the same.

We are just back from a 2 night stay at granville house glamping. Myself and My two girls stayed in a beautiful yurt, my friends stayed in a tent. It was a magical experience. Everything was so clean, bathroom and kitchen facilities were great too. Breige the host was absolutely amazing getting us in very last minute. We are already planning our next stay. Great location too. 👌

We went to the butterfly house last June with my family and a couple of friends. We had told the landlady that we would be arriving late because we were travelling. The landlady had said we could come at any time. She would not be available after 9 pm but it was Cabin on grounds. She sent us the coordinates so that we could get to the house following Google maps instructions.
We arrived to the house around half past ten and it was dark with a few lights on here and there. It was difficult to see your way around. Silently, I went to explore where most of the lights were while my family and friends waited next to our cars.
I saw a few apartments and a house, some of them with the lights turned on but with people inside so I did not ask anything to anyone just not to bother them. Suddenly a lady came out of the dark. She was visibly angry and asked me who I was and what I was doing there. I said I was looking for the butterfly house. She said: “get out of here, you are disturbing the people who are sleeping. Go to your house!” I said I didn’t know where my house was. She said my friends did. I went back to where my friends were. They didn’t know where the house was. Angrily, the landlady took one of my friends and I there and said: “get into the house!” My friends told me that while I had been looking around where the house was, the landlady had asked them angrily who they were and what was I doing walking over the premises.
The house itself was nice and it was in a good location with beautiful views outside. Some things needed repairing: the watercloset took ages to refill and an armchair was broken. But all in all it was a very nice place to stay.
Notwithstanding, the way we were treated is not acceptable. Fortunately my son was sleeping but my 11 year old daughter was very scared of seeing an angry woman in the dark scolding us, all through our two night stay she feared the woman would come in and yell at us. Regretably she never came to apologize.
