We found this place while hiking and eating lunch here was the best decision we’ve made. The food was very fast and tasty, which is something we are not really used to up in the mountains. The lake next to the restaurant is very beautiful and resting on its shore is a truly relaxing experience!
Great food, fantastic view! On the lake side, next to High Tatra mountains in the National park. After teo hours hiking in the smow ,real traditional Slovakian meals were more than appretiated! Very recommended to the non professional hikers as well
Planning hiking trips with little kids requires mountain "base camp" that can allow the kids to make certain trails doable and affordable even for the youngest members of your family. Majlathova chata is simply the right place for this purpose. You can find here rooms with beautiful view on neighbouring peaks, lake, providing food for affordable prices. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. We have been simply pleased by the service and I can just recommend this place to anyone. Enjoy the sce nery and cheers!
We popped in for lunch mid walk and the service was speedy and the food delicious. It was very easy to order from the outside hatch as the menu was on a board that you could see from your table and translated to English underneath.
I stayed here just for a while, but I have to praise the food, because that's the only reason I give this good review. awesome food, and the personal was really nice, also there was a great view and they had a good drinks. I recommend
This is absolutely great place to stay and start short and long hiking tours. Nice meals, affordable prices, very low prices prior a season (by the end of May), cozy rooms. Friendly staff! The place where tourists end their trips and hikers and mountain climbers start. Do not hesitate go there even in June!
A small cosy chalet set in the midst of the pristine Tatra mountains region.Curiously enough there is a good one hour hilly walk to get to the chalet from the end of the car park where one is obliged to leave his car and walk all the way up the mountain side to Majlathova Chata. The Chata's interior is warm and cosy. Not much to do there other than sit around in the dining room area drinking ,eating or playing one of the many board games available for use by visitors.Unless one is adventurous and indulges in mountain walks through some well routed paths.During our visit(mid-May, it was still snowing, the nearby lake was frozen and walking on the frozen paths was rather treacherous). Our room,a family 5 bedded unit, was compact and had an en suite bathroom with a shower ,water closet and wash hand basin. On our departure from the Chata we opted to use the hotel's transport, which turned out to be a good decision, considering the heavy rain showers at our time of departure.…
I cannot even count how many times I've been in High Tatras and this place was definitely best value for money especially in terms of acommodation. Room is newly furbished with shower and toilet, clean and spacious. Staff was just as amazing - always smiling, happy to help, makes you feel like home. Breakfast for €6 is a must! This is a must when you're on Popradske pleso.
Very cosy, good food, friendly staff and affordable prices. The rooms have view at the lake or the mountain. Easy to reach even in winter time if you follow the marked trails from the Strbske Pleso. We had a 1.5 hour hike in the dark and had no problem.
I think the other chata here is cheaper. The staff was not too kind. Naturally the location is very good, the lake is very nice and you can reach this chata on road. You can it here traditional meals, and good soups.
