Travelled here with my daughter for a four night ski break using the new Luton - Poprad flights.Great communication when booking, reception staff arranged our transfer from Poprad airport and welcomed us to the beautiful Tatras mountains. Ski hire was available on the ground floor of the hotel and arranged helpful staff who spoke and understood excellent English. The comfort apartment was clean, of a good size and was serviced to an excellent standard daily. We found the mattresses a little hard but this may just be personal taste! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice available. The reception staff & restaurant staff were extremely helpful, Monika at reception in particular went out of her way to help us and her English is excellent. The hotel is in an ideal location, the free ski bus stops within 50 metres of the hotel and it is a 5 minute ride to the lifts operating every 15 minutes. Within 3 minutes walk are restaurants, a supermarket and the train station. The snow conditions were excellent and we had a great stay at the Crocus Hotel and hope to return.

The young receotionist lady (brown long hair) made our visit so nice. First we got a room next to elevators even uf we had requested a room as far as possible from the elevators. She was really on top of things and corrected the situation. Hotel is well situated and if you are looking for a spacious and peaceful room ask for room 513 on top floor end of the corridor.

Hotel has perfect location in the city center. In front of the hotel there is a big parking, skibus stop and train station. You can travel with train to ski or ride a bike to other resorts in High Tatras or even to Poprad. And the train is cheap and comfortable - you can forget about driving car for the whole stay. Near the hotel you can also find couple of restaurants (I recommend Furkotka) and supermarket. Rooms are nice - big, warm and well furnished, kitchen in equipped in everything what is needed for a short stay. There is a separate room where guest can leave all belongings. Everything is quite new and clean. Bathroom has one glass luxfer wall what may be considered as uncomfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. I didn't use hotel's restaurant but it looked really nice. There was no room service during our stay.

Definitely not a 4star hotel - more like 3star, mainly due to the level of services.
Terrible restaurant service - waiters pay more attention to their phone screens than to the customers, leaving dirty plates on table for an hour after dinner. If you want to order something, you have to walk to them to the bar to place the order. Splitting the bill not possible when paying by card is ridiculous.
Food is good.
Apartments are nice & clean.

very nice appartments, BUT: this 4 stars hotel has no own restaurant, no cafe, no bar, no possibility to buy some breakfast on the hotel, the staff is very very unprofessional, arrogat, rude, don´t speak english, don´t speak german, very hard beds, wellness entrance through the garage etc, etc. I was very sorry to celebrate in this way my birthday /50/

New premises finished few years ago as apartments are now serving like hotel. Apartments are furnished with modern furniture, 1 or 2 bedroom apartment with a small kitchenette could serve as a good alternative during short or long stay. Prices are not very competitive so there should be no problem to find vacancy at this hotel. It is a good alternative to luxurious hotels in Strbske Pleso, including small hotel spa (sauna and whirlpool) available upon request with limited opening hours. Restaurant is downstairs but you need to ask in advance if you are interested in breakfast out of season.

Fantastic apartments. Heaps of space, lots of storage, great facilities. Restaurant and bar, with internet facilities. Buffet breakfast included. Views to die for, and plenty to do in the area. Hiking in summer, skiing in winter. Train from Poprad beside the Hotel Crocus. Huge car park. Being only English speaking was not a problem. All the staff enjoyed having conversations with us. Great position, and would love to return.

Super hotel, with high quality of apartments. Very nice view on spectacular mountains. We spent there wonderful times. The localization is also very practical - next to the tram station. I have to also mention high quality of restaurant. Everyone who want to spend some time in Štrbske pleso, I reccomend this hotel

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Crocus for 3 nights in March 2011 while we were on a skiing trip. We arrived in the middle of the night and were pleasantly surprised to find that the rooms were actually more like mini apartments with a living area, a bedroom and a very decent size bathroom. The rooms were very comfortable. On all 3 days, we had breakfast in the hotel, which was served in the breakfast room. It was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. There was a shuttle service from right outside the hotel to the ski slopes. Very convenient. We also ate lunch one day at the hotel restaurant and the food was good. Oh and the hotel has a nice bar where you can relax in the evenings. The surrounding area was pretty dead at night. There were a couple of restaurants near the hotel which is where we ended up eating dinner as the hotel restaurant closed fairly early. The only negative thing about the hotel was that there was no proper spa or massage service available. There was a brochure of some massages that the hotel offered but the hotel staff spoke very little English and weren't able to explain to me anything about the service, the massage therapist etc. It was a bit sketchy, to be honest. This was quite disappointing because after a couple of days of skiing (or falling mostly!), I could have definitely used a good massage or spa service. I did end up making the trip to the near by Grand Kempinski. Spectacular hotel and spa. Of course, slightly expensive, but definitely worth it. All in all, it was a good stay at Hotel Crocus. I would recommend it for the rooms and for the convenience of getting to the slopes. But if you're looking for a hotel with a spa, it's better to stay elsewhere.
