Hotel service is pretty good. But I have few negative experiences. Ski bus from hotel is not working during hours written, check in reception is you would like to use it. It should departure till 11am, we were there @10:50 and after checking with reception we got information that driver is on lunch break and will drive at 12am. Not all rooms are modern, at least on 1st floor they are pretty old. Fortunately cleans and nice.
The hotel has great location, okay rooms, good food. However the positive experience ends there. Services and the staff is very poor. Wellnes is open only in the afternoon/evening; rooms are too hot and it took us 5 visits at the reception to get them to solve the temperature problem in our room; the staff was very reluctant to do anything what we asked for, some of the staff at the Vatra restaurant was very rude. Some days the restaurat was closed in the afternoon due to technical problems so we were not able to order any food, however when friends of the waitress visited they had special treatment and got the food no problem. Some facilities are a bit old and since it is ongoing reconstruction the hotel looks kind of all over the place, which could easily be made up for by the approach of the staff, unfortunately this is not the case…
Had a great experience at Wellness Hotel Patria this past week while visiting the High Tatras region in Slovakia. As others have mentioned in the reviews, the location is really perfect for exploring this area, located right on Strbske Pleso and in very close proximity to the trailheads of most of the hiking trails. I had a great experience with the property itself as well - while the rooms may have been a bit dated, everything was clean and comfortable. And the architecture and atmosphere of the hotel was very interesting for a visitor from the US - unique compared to American mountain lodge design. I found the staff to be very warm and accommodating, too - and unlike some of the other reviews here, I had no issues communicating in English with most people. I didn't really take advantage of the Koliba Patria (restaurant) but I thought the breakfast buffet was excellent. I definitely would not hesitate to stay here again if I ever return to this area, and would certainly recommend this property for anyone visiting the Tatras.…
We came there and wanted to order pancakes, coffee and lemonade. Coffee wasn't great, lemonade was just a tap water with sirup. We waited 40 minutes but no pancakes were delivered. So we've decided to cancel order and leave but waiter let us wait for another 10 minutes and he did not even say sorry...
This hotel is a pearl, an icon of the High Tatras. The excellent location and the uniqe atmosphere is contrasted with the poor quality of the food and services. A stinky smelling meat was served for our first dinner. It was rotten, obviously rotten. The gintonic was made with water instead of gin. It was disappointing. Nobody speaks englist here, so the hotel staff surely wont read this report. The receptionist was so undereducated, that he could not tell us the room number in english ( but at least made several attempts). During our stay, I met no staff person speaking english at any level. Truth to be told, the location paid off everything. The lake view, squirrels on the trees, fresh cold air, giant mountains and christal clrear lake water - like in my dreams. So just pack in some sandwiches and enjoy…
We stopped by for lunch though our experience was a disappointment as the soup we ordered was definitely not worth the price 4,50 Euros, it was meant to be bean soup, I had 1 bean in it and the amount was laughable. Also we ordered lemonade with mint and it was just tap water with a slice of lemon and no mint. After this we did no want main meal as we didn’t trust it would be worth it. This should not be happening in a 4 star hotel!! Never again
Beside hotel location that is great the rest is over priced for an old hotel rooms and restaurant. We have been there for few nights with a small dog and also been charge 25 euro a day .( we have called the hotel before to ask) at check out the staff was unpleasant. Wouldn’t mind to pay it if it wasn’t discussed before. Spa and wellness center is also ok Overall expected much more from a 4star hotel.
very good hotel. wellness area is very good. breakfast was OK. nice view from the room. better to stay in the upper floors. ice area for hiking. there is a good restaurant "koliba Patria" just next the hotel.
Fabulous hotel located on lake shore. We booked lake view room via Booking.com and were very happy with our choice. Hotel is beautifully furnished, very elegant and clean. Wonderful facilities included swimming pool, all types of sauna, massages, just wonderful. We had a buffet breakfast included that was amazing! So many choices! We also had a la carte dinner at the hotel restaurant that was great too. Staff was amazing too, very friendly and welcoming. Overall our experience was great and we can't wait to stay in Hotel Patria again.
Absolutely fabulous stay! This is the third fortunate time we have spent here at hotel Patria and again it did not disappoint. The staff, facilities, atmosphere and features just keeps getting better. Having spent most of my life working in the hospitality industry, it would be easy for me to nit pick. However, on this occassion I felt no need to do so. The hotel was so relaxed and spacious despite the fact it was completely full. The staff were attentive and approachable, something lacking in most hotels here in High Tatras. Rooms were well equipped, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff were courtious and paid great attention to detail. (They arranged my daughter's teddies beautifully on her bed ☺ much to her delight). The food was plentiful and delicious. We really struggled every night to choose something without over indulging. Same with breakfast. (Ok so we did over indulge, but it was so difficult not to.) The decor in this hotel beats many now modern clinical styles. This hotel offers a more natural style, rustic almost with modern touches. Beautiful paintings of High Tatras adorn the walls throughout the hotel. The lobby has a water feature that caught the attention of almost all the guests as they entered. So, to sum up: Excellent, highly recommended we will be back!!!!!…
