We can't say enough about this beautiful cottage. The location and amenities were exactly as described. We were comfortable and felt completely at home. The bathtub looking out over the garden? Superb! Janine and Martin are perfect hosts. Would we book again? Without a moment's hesitation.

These two cottages are simply wonderful. They are modern, spacious and have absolutely everything you will need including outdoor areas. The beds are super comfy and everything is spotlessly clean. They are out in the country so very peaceful and quiet. The kitchen is very well equipped so you eat in or enjoy the many restaurants nearby. There is a...

We stayed 2 nights as we were attending a wedding at a local vineyard literally 2 mins drive away. The cottage was beautifully clean and we'll presented with a large, open plan living kitchen dining and a cavity slider wall that separated the bedroom, or you could leave it all open. Great option if you wanted to have friends over...

Reluctantly, I am writing this review - this is the best place we have stayed in, in the Hawke's Bay. I would prefer to keep this gem our secret. The cottage is immaculately presented, clean and it has everything you could ever need. The communication was amazing prior to our arrival and our every question answered. The accommodation is private,...

We spent a weekend in one of the cottages. They are very well designed and appointed. One suggestion: provide one of those automated insect spray things or similar. We appreciate the fact that we were in a quiet, semi-rural environment but, at the height of summer insects were a slight problem For this quality of establishment, one of those devices...

Thanks very much for highlighting that. We have put an automated insect control system in both of the cottages now and hope these will help especially during our beautiful Hawke's Bay summer days & evenings. Thank you for the suggestion and we hope you had an otherwise enjoyable stay. Kind regards, Janine & Martin

The owners had baby Alpaca orCria as they are called and we were able to watch them being fed.we found the kitchen well appointed and convenient. We like the farmers market and buy provisions to use in our cottage. I like the privacy and the Two decks. This means there is almost always a breeze.

We're glad you're enjoying your second stay with us and sorry we don't have some more baby cria for you to adore this year. Maybe next year? :) Wishing you safe and happy travels - Janine & Martin

I think this is our 5th stay at Te Awanga and we still love it to bits. The cottages are immaculate, clean and very private. You are not far away from all the action in Napier and vineyards. A walk in the morning to the beach is peaceful and worth the effort. We will return again and again.

The cottage was quite large with a good kitchen and very good furniture. We enjoyed lovely quiet days and were provided with provisions for a good breakfast. The place was very good to find and the people were very helpful and friendly.

Myself and my partner travelled to New Zealand for 6 weeks from the UK over Christmas last year. When we landed in Napier 2 days before Christmas extremely tired and jet lagged this was our first stop and what a perfect way to be introduced to New Zealand and the stunning Hawkes Bay. From arriving we were made to feel...

Glad you had a relaxing stay in Ilikai Cottage over Christmas last year; it was a pleasure having you both as guests. We're also very happy to say that broadband has finally reached rural Te Awanga so we are now able to provide complimentary internet/Wi-Fi access to all future guests. Hope we might see you again if you're ever back...

What a lovely cottage! Very modern and tasteful, comfortable and restful. We had a very relaxing stay here and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was so obvious that the owners were thoughtful and meticulous by nature in the style and upkeep of our little cottage. We were also very grateful for the small changes (removal of rugs) made prior...
