Stayed for 5 nights here, The accommodation was quite comfortable and the staff friendly. Our guide Edison was fantastic and we made good friends with him. The food was pretty good, plenty of it, we just wish there was some more fresh local fruit to try besides bananas. We saw plenty of animals and were glad to stay the 5...

We were very disappointed with this lodge and the guide who was assigned to us. We expected it to be hot and humid, but this lodge was too rustic for the price. Sincé staying there, I´ve been told of several other facilities that cost less and offer more. The best thing about our stay was the food as the dinners...

Thank you for your opinion. The guide who was with you has been relieved of his duty with us. He had proven to be a very negative person that would do the minimum to get by. Yes there are cheaper lodges and maybe slightly nicer but you would sacrifice plenty of wildlife observation opportunities and a real experience. the lodges...

Had a great time staying four days in April. The lodge picked me up from the airport and took me to Iquitos where I met my guide and he took me around to some cafes and sights downtown. Next we got on an boat and took a ride for about an hour and stopped at a local rum distillery. It...

I believe all creatures naturally have a sense of nature but human beings are too much distracted and have gradually lost touch with the nature. Staying at Otorongo draws me closer the nature again. Even the tropical rains sounded like symphony. The log house contains guest rooms and a common area where fellow travellors can enjoy meals and socialize. The...

Otorongo may be known for its lodge experience, but if you are the adventurous type looking for a rewarding challenge, I would recommend one of their long hikes through the jungle. On their website, Otorongo lists some of the hike options. I did the Oran-Piedrot-Oran hike for 5 days/4 nights. There wasn't any backtracking - the hike went due north...

Being met in Inquitos, with transportation to Otorongo by fast or slow boat was a wonderful experience. I chose the slow boat of 5+ hours to enjoy the experience. With one stop where I noticed the Amazonia Victoria lilies, I had an advance opportunity to see these amazing plants, And sample alittle jungle alcohol. The hammock in the boat allowed...

Stayed 5 nights, and from booking to departure everyone I came contact with was great! From airport pick-up, hotel in Iquitos, confirming return flight and boarding passes, it was effortless. Great trip down the Amazon and back. Rooms are comfortable but rustic, screened and yes open which provides ventilation, Beds comfortable. Meals were good, hearty, with local ingredients, not gourmet...

Otorongo might be the best place to go to see the Peruvian Amazon, but if you have any experience with outdoor lodges and expeditions, it's not going to wow you. For the money, the accomodations are very basic - one building with twelve rooms on a platform, no ceilings, and as one reviewer said, you can hear people roll over...

Thanks for your review, I am actually quite upset about the guide , we are a custom expedition company that relies on our personalized itineraries for our excellent service. Seeing that we are a jungle lodge , it is the personal service that is the most important. I am working To find out what guide you had so as to...

A great place to stay. Basic facilities, good food and great position.personal guides are knowledgable and helpful. Animals are harder to see as they live in the rainforest .the jungle is amazing . The Amazon is a truly great river and it's nearby tributaries are a great way to get into what I guess is still virgin Jungle

Thank you for your honest review! I recall your visit even though I was in Iquitos for some of the time, seven days and a camping experience. Thanks again!

Just returned from a 4 night stay. Three couples traveling together. Can truly say it was an amazing experience. As we turned down the tributary to the lodge we experienced the most beautiful sunset. The rest of the time was just as beautiful? Wilbur our guide was more than accommodating and great fun. We never experienced masses of other tourists...
