My 12-yr old son & I spent 6 days at Otorongo Lodge at the end of our trip to Peru. We had our own set of guides (1 from local village & 1 english-speaking from Iquitos). We enjoyed the flexibility to plan our daily adventures & got to see lots of animals (monkeys, sloths, dolphins). My son wanted to fish...

Otorongo was able to accommodate myself and another backpacker fairly last minute (we're mid-20s). Everything went really smoothly from beginning to end. the lodge is rustic but comfortable and bug-free. The two of us had a private guide (Walter) who was native to the area, incredibly well-educated in ecology, and spoke perfect English. Walter would build activities around our interests....

We spent four days, three nights at Otorongo, with one of those nights sleeping out in the jungle. Victor was our guide throughout and Christopher our driver. Both went out of their way to make our expedition special and catered for all our needs and wishes. On the night of our stay in the jungle, it rained very heavily and...

Me and my partner stayed 4 nights in the Otorongo lodge in the apparent low tourist season (we were the only guests in the entire lodge!). On arrival to Iquitos our guide (Christian) met us at the airport and instantly started sharing his incredible knowledge of the local area whilst transporting us to the lodge. I have to say that...

My friend Jenn and I recently spent a lively, constantly fascinating, lovingly escorted and engaging week at Otorongo Expeditions Ecolodge. I should tell you that I am 63, overweight, and not what you would call fit. Jenn also fits that description, though twenty years my junior, she has some mobility issues that could have been problematic when trekking through the...

If you want to visit the Amazon, this is the place to go! The staff there was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. It feels like a family here as everyone is in good spirits and they all get along really well. I feel very fortunate to have had our guides Josias and Yamir, who...

We stayed for 4-5 days (don't remember :-) ) at the lodge. It is really remote. that we liked a lot about this place. There was a huge garden to explore during daytime or also guided night tours. We had our own guide every day and our own boat. We could chose from many tour options. And we saw quite...

We stayed there for about 5 days (me and my husband). It was one of the best adventures we ever had! Our guides as well as the owners and staff were all really nice, friendly and helpful. We felt like home. We were there during the reining season so there were nearly no one around (meaning tourists). Nature was breathtaking....

There are innumerable options open to tourists when it comes to selecting a jungle trip - it just depends what you're after. I looked into many companies, a lot of which offered something similar - a stay in a wood-built hut with access to a central plunge pool, canoe trips, day and night walks, posed photos with a 'wild' animal,...

Im reading trough all the reviews and im thinking that people expect different things when they go into the jungle. This facility actually took good care of us. We are not hardcore nature jungle trecking persons and they could see this and provided a suitable 5 days for us - mostly in the boat! Boat tour was refreshing and swimming...
