We had booked the plains camp but were really fortunate and got an upgrade to the bush camp - only 9 rooms and a beautiful central reception, lounge and dining area. Beautifully designed and furnished bedroom/bathroom and then separate sitting/viewing room. Huge bedroom area with 2 double beds, lovely bathroom with great shower and nice toiletries. What a treat -...

The Bush Suit at Okonjima is spectacular. The suite is just a short way from the Bush Camp Lodge. It has just two rooms ideal for a family or 4 friends, a large sitting dining area and a modern kitchen. The rooms were huge and the this was only one of the two places we stayed that had a bath....

Okonjima Bush Camp just has to be experienced if you are going to Namibia. The quality of the accommodation is excellent. There was one room with a bedroom and shower room plus another room with two day beds and a small kitchenette where we found some home cooked biscuits for us and some seeds for feeding the birds that seemed...

Stayed here for two nights as part of a self-drive tour around Namibia. On the first night we went out looking for leopards and were fortunate to see a large male. The following morning we went trekking for Cheetah and the guide found 4 which were together. This was a great experience and Daniel (guide) was very good. Accommodation was...

Over all this camp has the lot. Location, lodges, game drives and more. Just have to deliver a five star service. I only stayed one night that really is not enough. Two or three, even more if time was on your side. Game drives were great fun with the rangers full of information on all the wild life. Dinner and bar service...

We had the chance to stay 3 nights in the Bush suite at Africats, which was a real treat. Perhaps not to everyone's liking since it is away from the main camp but for us it's private location made us feel totally free and as though we were the guardians of this beautiful home. Wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms with blissful...

We camped out in one of the four campsites and loved every bit of it. The campsites are vast and very private. Each campsite has a kitchen with a sink (under a roof) and an area to cook and eat. There is a separate area to pitch tents. The toilets and showers have no doors, but face the wilderness and...

I stayed 1 night at the bush camp, and had a stellar experience. This was my final night of a 2 week trip arpund the country, and it was my luxury/splurge experience. Al the staff were friendly and accomodating. The entire property was beautiful, and well designed. The only mild disapointment was the food. While it was obvious that they...

We stayed in the Okonjima Villa, which is rented out on an exclusive basis only. We were not aware of this and only found out when we arrived that we will be the only guests, by intention. It was a bit strange to us, staying in a villa which can accommodate up to 10/12 persons, is fully staffed and you...

This was our final stop on our tour of Namibia and the best was definitely saved until last. We only stayed one night and were fortunate to be upgraded from the Plains Camp up to the Bush Camp. What amazing accommodation. We had two linked rondavels - one, the bedroom and bathroom, the other the "lounge". Set a good distance...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OKONJIMA - home of AfriCat, a non–profit organisation, committed to long–term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores. AfriCat started out as a welfare organisation, but after many years of rescuing large numbers of carnivores from irate livestock farmers, it became apparent that the long-term survival of large carnivores on both commercial and communal farmland, is dependent on finding solutions to the ever-increasing human-wildlife conflict. OKONJIMA hosts the exclusive Villa & Bush Suite, Bush Camp, Main Camp, the private Omboroko Campsite & the Volunteer Programme – PAWS. Halfway between Windhoek and Etosha. (B1) ... more   less
