Have a look at previous low star reviews and you will find something similar to our experience: we stayed here to attend a wedding. Room 3, it turns out, is above the bar's speakers and adjacent to the function room. We had bass vibrating through the bed and walls until 2.30am on the Friday and until midnight on the Saturday....

We are always keen to maintain a high standard of customer service and investigate areas where we may need to make improvements. On this occasion, we have no booking on our system, in October 2016, that matches the booking described in your review. Please confirm the dates that you stayed with us, and the name under which the booking was...

What's not to like - lovely modern fitted room, comfy and large bed, good pub food - particularly the pizzas, very dog friendly, and with very friendly and helpful staff. Beer was good and wine well priced. Breakfast was great too. Location is ideal - centre of a very pretty village/small town. Pub noise from downstairs was just background in...

Clean and pleasant room. It would have been useful information to know accommodation booked was in an annex, a short walk from the Red Lion. Staff very friendly. Large ensuite with ample supply of towels. A nice selection of biscuits on tray with tea and coffee. Spectacular view over the North Devon countryside.

family joined us mid week whilst staying in the area, we had a really nice lunch at The Red Lion, service good with friendly staff, just a bit disappointed with outside seating area, as it was a nice day we wanted to be outside...but despite that we did enjoy our meal & would return.

We stayed at the Red Lion from Friday - Sunday to attend a friend's wedding on the Saturday and were extremely disappointed, particularly having enjoyed going to the restaurant last time we visited. We understand that this is a pub and that it has loud music, however, it is absolutely outrageous to charge £90 for a room directly above the...

We are sorry to hear that you were not able to enjoy your stay at the Red Lion. We are a bar/restaurant situated at the centre of a thriving community, and on occasion, customers enjoy the lively ambience associated with a busy bar, particularly at the weekends. It was unusual that there was a party on Friday evening, and live...

Stayed one night here as a stop off , very remote lovely village , it's a pub hotel and we were given a room at their sister pub down the road which the pub part has closed down and just rooms remaining, can't fault the room at all , spacious , comfy bed , luxury bathroom and in the morning...

We stayed at The Red Lion in March whilst visiting family for a party in March. We had the first room at the top of the stairs (room 1 I think). We checked in quite late on the Saturday night, already there were five other members of the family checked in. we had a nice drink in the bar which...

Well what can I say, I lived in this pub over 30 years ago and worked the bar. It certainly has changed for the better. We had room 1 and it was a king four-poster bed. Room was clean with clean towells and a lovely shower. We had tea and it was a fish and chip supper,it was refreshing to...

Booked a twin room at the Globe (sister hotel) and on arrival got upgraded to a room at the Red Lion. Unfortunately it was a double bed and not a twin but that wasn't a major problem. The bathroom was epic - a huge shower and plenty of space. The hotel guests had a separate entrance to their rooms so...
