I run a rental and since lately my guests have come to the Morenica Hills to get to know the good food and wine of this District, I have sent them to 2 cantinas in Volta Mantovana and 1 in the Lugana District. La Tenuta Maddalena Is the favourite by a long way! €12 a head includes salame (and sometimes...

The owners are so welcoming and helpful, our stay was a pleasure. We arrived hot and tired on our bikes to a glass of their own white wine. As their restaurant was being refurbished, we were driven to a superb restaurant in Venosa and driven home by the chef! There was a large outdoor pool. The room had a comfortable...

After a long days cycling, turning in to La Maddalena tucked within the vines, we were immediately welcomed by Angelica with an offer of a glass of wine (rose, their own of course) and some cold water and nibbles. Very refreshing, even if we did feel a bit scruffy in our cycle gear - it didn't seem to worry her....

We drove from Rome to Venosa on a rainy, dismal day. Everything took longer than we expected and we didn't arrive until about 8:30. Most of the drive was in very rural areas of Italy and the times I tried to call or email the establishment I was not able to get any service on my phone. When we pulled...

My two friends and I stayed at La Maddalena for a long weekend covering a cycle race we were taking part in. I have stayed and eaten at La Maddalena on a number of occasions with my wife and children, so had recommended it highly to my friends and I'm pleased to say it met all our expectations. Due to...

The owners could not have been more helpful in any way - their restaurant was being renovated and, as we were on a tandem, they took us in their car to a restaurant in town, they helped with directions the next day, etc etc.. The baking produced for breakfast was truly to die for - I've never tasted better pastry....

Encouraged by positive reviews here I emailed a firm reservation for later in the year complete with contact details and card details. No reply. I sent it again several days later; no reply. I found another email address, so I sent it again. No reply. This morning I called them, asking if the person answering spoke English. She hung up....

We had never been to Venosa before, but I can tell you that it is a" Must See" for those who wish to chill out among nature and peace and quiet, and enjoy pleasant strolls through a little village full of History. Not to mention the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and last but not least, the food!!! Yummmmm,...

Stayed here early in the summer (early June) and it was really peaceful and quiet. We has the pool to ourselves both the times we used it. We arrived really late on our first night, about midnight, thinking everyone would be in bed but the staff were really welcoming and even offered us dinner. The rooms are lovely all themed...

We were on a car tour of southern Italy off season (November) and came across Agriturismo La Maddalena by accident. It was a Monday and they were technically closed, but they cooked us a truly delicious meal (fresh pasta from their own wheat, their own wine) and were very welcoming and friendly. One of the best meals from our 2...

“We stayed in Mela. There is a room above, which if occupied, you will hear them on the stairs and if they move furniture. Angelica did offer us a choice of rooms, which are all different. We liked the coziness of Mela and its unusual shape (circular).”
