We stayed at Brücke 49 during a cold and windy autumn’s weekend in late September. We enjoyed the place very much as ist offers a stylish and unique atmosphere. You can hang out in the living room or in the garden and enjoy the breathtaking view of the alps. I’d recommend the place for couples.

This is an unusual review, as I checked out before I had checked in. I phoned to check availability for a 1 night stay, was told they only had the biggest suite available, it was €250 b&b plus €20 for our small dog, I was assured the room was beautiful and the breakfast fabulous, so, we agreed and headed off,... Dear Kevin, I'm Thomas, the owner of Brücke 49 - I was the "chap" that greeted you. You came and left again within 5 minutes, which I don't think you can claim is a "stay", and I had no chance to offer you any solution that would make you happy, as we do not have rooms with bath. We totally... More

My husband and I stayed at Brucke 49 for four nights during a month long trip to Europe. Vals is an incredible corner of the world and paired with Ruth and Thomas' hospitality it is UNFORGETTABLE! We went to Vals specifically for their B&B and were blown away by the entire experience. Ruth is a wonderful cook and breakfast was... More

Many of us have the dream of opening our own B&B in a remote little town and hosting guests from around the world. Ruth and Thomas have done this to a standard that I have seldom seen achieved. From the Danish influenced design, to the comforts and extras like a fine selection of gins and the outdoor fireplace Brücke 49... More

First, the owners, Thomas (Danish) and Ruth (Swiss) are absolutely fantastic hosts. You get the attention you deserve and they give you great tips for the region. The hotel itself could be located in London or NY. The Danish design influence can be seen everywhere and it works perfectly. In the morning a tasty breakfast is prepared with excellent coffee,... This property sits river side in the center Vals. If you are looking for a lot of action and a big hotel's fancy amenities this property probably is not for you, but then again you don't visit Vals for those things anyway. Vals is a quiet town that gives its visitors a chance to see Swiss mountain life up close,... More

Ruth was very friendly and helpful and gave us the great idea to take the gondola up the mountin, hike 2 hours to the reservoir, have lunch there at the top, then scooter back down (a 30 min. ride) before heading to the Therme baths. This whole day was one of our highlights of our 2 week trip to Italy,... More

We only stayed for 1 night which was soooo not enough. This B&B is right at the center of town where the bus stop and the post office is located. Short walk to the Therme and the cable car up to the mountain. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. They provide 50% discount vouchers for the Therme and... More

Staying in Vals is going to cost a few bucks, no matter where you stay. But at Brucke 49, you're getting so much more than a typical hotel. First of all, it's beautifully decorated, each piece carefully chosen and clearly well placed. There are great books to read in a number of languages as well as a huge selection of... More

Bruecke 49 is unlike any other place we've stayed, and a must-see for anyone interested in design, laid-back hospitality and the Alpine lifestyle. We had the suite, which was a nice-sized living room and separate bedroom. The shared bath was no problem at all -- with only maximum of 8 people in the property, there's never a wait. The breakfasts... More
