The hotel itself may be a little tired, but they are making efforts, it is still really nice though and so quiet in the evenings that it was totally ideal for relaxing. Trying to imagine it in its heyday back in the mafia days! The staff were the most helpful I found anywhere in Cuba. Without asking them anything they...

best diving spot so far in Cuba. Hotel is "old style" and simple as some others already stated. We heard that the rooms vary from quality, therefore, just ask for another room if you are not happy with the given one.

The hotel was built in the 1950s as a nice beach hotel. Locals tell us it was Mafia money. Within days of the opening, Fidel Castro came to power. The Hotel is still locked in the 1950s, but there is work going on to resotre it. It has a lovely beach with white sand for sun bathing, shell collecting, or...

One of the only two hotels on the island I've been told. Beach is nice but not good for swimming because it is shallow for a very long walk into the water. Pool is very nice. For some reason people don't seem to come here. Hotel was almost empty and that when it was high season. Food is not too...

This hotel used to be fancy but it is ran down. Rooms are nice (mine had paint peeling off the wall) and very close to the beach. The pool was nice. meals were very limited in options. If you want to dive Punta Francess thats pretty much your only option.

This older hotel is situated on a beautiful long private beach. There's a gorgeous huge pool with lounge chairs. And there's a terrific open-air, covered bar that makes killer good mojitos for cheap (2 CUCs). Rooms aren't exciting, and there's nothing nearby. You need transport to get into Nueva Gerona, which is a fun little town with a variety of...

My apartment was fine. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is more or less a cantine. Breakfast and dinner doesn't offer much. No internet. My recommendation: if you are not diving, no need to go there or to spend time on the island. Diving was nice, especially at the wall, and, apart from the administration, the staff was...

The staff are extremely friendly when I first arrived I was ill from food in Havana airport, the staff where great, the made me herbal tea, asked after me etc. A few things...

I stayed hear for 4 days. The food is shockingly BAD. I only had breakfasts, avoiding other meals. On the third day, instead of the buffet, breakfast was bought out on plates. But it was left overs. I was very ill for that night and couldn't eat for two days. If you are diving, this is the only place to...

“We upgraded our room to a bungalow, but really that just gets you a little more space (the furniture is exactly the same)”
JennyW647, 3 May 2017 | Read review
“The hotel itself is amazingly well kept, clean and tidy. Considering that they don't have many guests. Bungalow Locations FYI:- Bungalows 130/131/132/133 are all fairly near the pool and bar area. I stayed in 130 and it could be noisy even when guest numbers are low. Staff enjoy shouting when communicating day and night. Bungalows 136 (136 is at the end of the main block) to 153 (153 is at the end of this run and resort) are the ones to request. If you're looking to be as far away from the pool area and just read a book in silence with an ocean/beach view then 153 is yours! 152 is its neighbour and they are semidetached buildings.”
