The hotel itself may be a little tired, but they are making efforts, it is still really nice though and so quiet in the evenings that it was totally ideal for relaxing. Trying to imagine it in its heyday back in the mafia days!
best diving spot so far in Cuba. Hotel is "old style" and simple as some others already stated. We heard that the rooms vary from quality, therefore, just ask for another room if you are not happy with the given one.

One of the only two hotels on the island I've been told. Beach is nice but not good for swimming because it is shallow for a very long walk into the water. Pool is very nice. For some reason people don't seem to come here....More

You need to go via Cubaism. Make sure that any confirmations you receive are printed - we heard a story that the hotel wasn't accepting emails shown on phones and on our last day met a couple who were refused entry because of this.
Also- you will need to pay day to day bills at the hotel by cash (bar, mainly) unless the hotel has changed its policy in the last month.
