My children surprised me with the "Rainforest Full Massage" on our last evening at the Monteverde Lodge and Gardens. The Garden Massage Room is unto itself, detached from the lodge, amongst their lush and beautiful gardens. Mayi's massage was so soothing and relaxing, not to mention the constant blowing wind that evening that lulled me into deeper relaxation. What a...

The lodge is situated in beautifully landscaped grounds that allow for a quiet and relaxing visit. At the same time, it's within walking distance of a local town and a shopping/dining center. The rooms are fairly basic. The food was very good and competitively priced vs. local options. The staff was very friendly. Only downside was the dusty, bumpy, winding...

Dear Nancy583, Thank you for mentioning our grounds, we are very proud of our gardens which are now going on two decades of work. Within walking distance is the town of Santa Elena where you will find some souvenir shops, a glass blower, coffee shops, the church, ATM's and a couple of grocery stores. Although the road from the Panamerican...

We stayed in the small garden view rooms...what a view! So glad we got a room here...lots of trails, birds and great food. I loved getting my (free) coffee in the morning and sit out near the hummingbird feeders. Beds on the firm side. Rooms very quiet until the breakfast crowd would start dragging their chairs overhead. Nice to have...

Dear torontogwenn, Thank you for your feedback. I have to agree with you, on the morning coffee. One of my thermometers for lodges is how wonderful the early morning coffee experience is. At Monteverde Lodge, grabbing coffee and sitting out hear the hummingbird feeders is a real treat! I also like to go down to the lookout point and listen...

We spent three nights at Monteverde Lodge and Gardens and had a lovely time. We had a ground floor standard room which didn't have a balcony but it was clean, spacious and comfortable. The grounds in the hotel are very nicely kept with a swimming pool, pond, butterfly house, hummingbird feeders, area with hammocks for reading or chilling and even...

We had one of the smaller garden view rooms and it was a little small for two people but adequate. The decor was attractive and it had a nice patio opening on the gardens, which are also quite attractive. The food at the restaurant was very good, but there are other good restaurants within easy walking distance (maybe 1/2 mile...

Dear BJ_Summers, Thank you for mentioning your stay in the Garden Rooms at Monteverde Lodge. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the patio and the terrace outside your room and the gardens beyond. You're right that the Garden Rooms are quite small. The advantage that they have is that all three of these rooms have King beds. We make...

Dear allen E, You're the first to mention how much you enjoyed the hammock and chairs on your garden terrace! We have four rooms that have doors that open directly onto the garden terrace which we have just recently redone. It's great for early morning coffee or a glass of wine after a day of hiking in the cloud forest!...

This hotel was everything I wanted. Lovely rooms(though sound insulation could be little better if you are unlucky and have a neighbour who snores and coughs very loudly), great restaurant with really excellent food in terms of quality and choice, as well as efficient and friendly waiting staff. What a wonderful place! The gardens, the butterflies-all amazing. Food was great, staff very helpful. Easy walk to town. Dear Susan S, Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences here on Trip Advisor.
