This place is wonderful if you are looking to be surrounded by Nature and have peace and quiet. I communicated with Daniel before our arrival and he was very helpful in answering all my questions. The property itself has a nature trail and you hear many birds sing all the time. It's close to the Monte Verde Nature reserve ....

Hola yellowhummingbird, Appreciate your comment. It was a pleasure to have served you. I do my best to provide "pre-check-in" support via email to enhance our guests experience and I am glad that came in pretty handy for you :) And of course, there is nothing like on-site, face-to-face support. Joshua and I have that very clear :) Cheers, Daniel...

My partner and I stayed at El Bosque for 3 nights in late July for the purposes of birding and we were not disappointed. Our room was very nice and clean and even had a mini fridge for cooling happy hour beers and leftover pizza! The birding around the hotel grounds was very good the highlights being excellent looks at...

My sister and I stayed at El Bosque last week, on a week's holiday to Costa Rica. Even before we arrived, the communication and support from Daniel (GM) was outstanding, and he was extremely helpful with any questions I had - and even booked a night trail for us before we arrived. The hotel itself is set in beautiful surroundings,...

We spent 3 wonderful nights at Hotel El Bosque. You will be surrounded by nature on well-kept grounds with a warm and professional staff. This is not a high-end "resort". Research the property before you make your reservation. If you're looking for a "personal, Costa Rican experience" then this is the place for you. The accommodations were simple and clean....

We spent 3 nights here and found the location to be ideal. Daniel and his team are really helpful and we had planned all our trips prior to arrival by email. The lodge rooms are comfortable enough and set in lovely grounds with some trails where we saw plenty of wildlife. There is an excellent Italian restaurant just a 3...

El Bosque was my favorite place I've stayed in Costa Rica so far. It's away from town a little bit, so you avoid the noise, but it's a super quick drive or cheap taxi to go eat or grab drinks downtown. We actually preferred to stay close to the hotel because it was so beautiful/quiet and there was a delicious...

My two teenagers and I recently stayed at El Bosque for three nights. What a wonderful hotel! We loved the quiet setting, serene gardens and forest, bright and clean room and bathroom. The breakfast each morning was very good. We were very comfortable there. The online support as well as in-person support from Daniel and his brother (can't remember his...

this is a very rustic getaway for families who want to disconnect and be outdoors the majority of the day. we had been staying at nice, tucked away places, so when we heard about this place we were excited. although the guy checking us in was friendly and spoke English well (I think it was Daniel's brother), our room wasn't...

Hi Sharone, Thanks for your feedback. We have a huge project during Sept and Oct to improve the water pressure. We're also changing all pillows :) I'm thinking about potential solutions for lights, but they are very expensive. Which means that we would have to raise our rates (which as you noticed are very cheap) and I am not sure...

Very clean, basic accommodations with hearty breakfast. Lovely gardens with plenty of space for kids to run around. We thoroughly enjoyed the night hike seeing a sloth, monkeys, birds and tarantulas. Located near some of the better restaurants in the region.

Hotel El Bosque was a perfect choice for our outdoor oriented family. We were delighted to find the hotel set out of town (still walking distance), up the road toward the cloud forest reserve. There is a small enclave with an organic food market, a bakery, an Italian restaurant (great pizza), a coffee shop and more. Very peaceful and idyllic....
