I visited San Luis Ecolodge with my family in December 2015. We stayed for one week in one of the cabinas and really enjoyed our time there. We were focused on bird watching, and were able to see dozens of species just around the Ecolodge itself, and many more in the nearby Monteverde reserve. There were wonderful short talks on...

UGA Ecolodge is an university-affiliated ecology/environmental studies program which also lodges vacationers along with students in a rustic but beautiful area in the Monteverde Reserve area. UGA provides classes in various areas such as organic farming, bird watching, cooking and other activities which you can participate in during your stay. If you are looking for an interesting way to spend...

What a wonderful place. We stumbled upon the EcoLodge (University of Georgia campus) much by accident after mentioning to our son who works at UGA that we were planning to travel to Costa Rica. He told us that we should consider visiting the EcoLodge during our trip and boy was that a great recommendation!! Not only did we test the...

Upon arrival our party of 4 adults from Canada we were met with hospitality that proved to be the constant norm. All options for involvement in activities (included in accommodation fee) were discussed and a personalized schedule was developed specifically for our group. We chose bird watching, tour of the organic farm, tour of the medicinal plant gardens, milking of...

There was a wide variety of food served, with interesting accompanying drinks. The beds were clean and comfy, although I would recommend doing a bed check for spiders before going to sleep. The indoor showers were sometimes warm and the bathrooms were very clean. With the native garden, the organic farm, the common area with wifi, the library, and the...

My buddies, Josh, and I stayed in one of the dorms. It was dorm three to be exact. Very quaint lodging, but it just had that cozy feel. We enjoyed watching the sunset with friends, and learning all about plants, mammals, and insects. The naturalists were super kind, and I enjoyed the experience.

Great weather, food, and people, what more could you ask for? The UGA Ecolodge was an amazingly beautiful place to stay. With a great campus, rooms, and bathrooms, I highly recommend visiting here. They give you many great activities to do and you'll have a new adventure to do each day. Also the hot chocolate is AMAZING!!!

This place was amazing, it was so nice. Being surrounded by the forest had to be an amazing view. There were tons of wildlife surroundings by the dorms i stayed at. Staying at UGA was a life changing experience. The guides were very welcoming and friendly. Everyone was so helpful and genuine. Even though, i would highly suggest bug spray,...

I visited the UGA Ecolodge with 17 other people on a high school trip. The Ecolodge was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative experience--this is no ordinary touristic location. The staff are helpful, kind, and energetic interns with vast knowledge of biology and ecology. While there I learned a great deal about Costa Rica...

We stayed in the dorms for about a week which was a lot of fun. But what was even more interesting was the ecotourism aspect of the place. Everything we did was part of a closed loop system that eventually benefitted our stay even further. Solar panels, biodigesters, and a farm all contributed to an enjoyable and sustainable stay here.
