This is a small family owned/operated hotel in the mountains in Monteverde. Beautiful property with the most amazing sunsets. The air was so fresh!! Slots and a whole family of white face monkeys on the property. Rooms and bed are comfortable with a rustic, cabin feel. Breakfast was great. The owners David, Betty and Sophia are so warm and make you feel like family. I had little time in Monteverde and Sophia was instrumental in helping plan my days. Thanks Guys, I’ll definitely visit again soon.
If you are looking for a nice and cosy hotel, this is definitely the place, Sofia and her parents are going to make you feel like home, and the place has the best view in town! 100% recommended!!! We are going back for sure!
We were lost trying to find our destination. The hotel staff was super nice and pointed us in the right direction. Although we weren't hotel guest, they made us feel welcomed and were super friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here the next time.
Great place. The staff were fantastic. We were there as Costa Rica was closing down around tourists because of Covid-18. There were takeaways available in town, but they kindly let us cook our own food in their kitchen. We were the only guests, but only because of the virus. Such a lovely location with absolute fantastic views from our balcony. Lovely sunsets and great viewing of birds (including a toucan in the garden). Thoroughly recommended place when Costa Rica re-opens.
First of all, this hotel is on the fringes of the cloud forest, so if you’re looking for creature comforts, you may be disappointed. The decor is tired and a bit run down but this place is good value for money compared to others. The location is stunning with beautiful sunsets and the staff are super friendly. You will also see lots of wildlife especially in the mornings when a family of white faced capuchins come to the hotel to share the odd banana handed out by the guests. There is lots of bird life too. We stayed in room 123 which had the feeling of being in a tree house. The view from the bedroom was stunning. Breakfast is good but there is no lunch or dining facility beyond that. But the hotel is a 5 minute drive from the centre of the local town, Santa Elena. The Monteverde rainforest reserve and the local zip wire parks are around 20 mins drive. By the way, a 4 wheel drive car is recommended for this area as the roads are mostly dirt tracks with many steep hills. …
