It is in a great location to see the town of Colditz and walk to the Schloss. Colditz is a pretty town that seems stuck somewhere around the middle of the last century and depends for its life on tourists to Colditz Castle

I actually stayed in May 2015, and just discovered the review I wrote somehow didn't get posted. Anyway, it was a perfect location to visit the castle (I recommend the extended tour), Ralf was extremely helpful and able to answer all my intricate questions based on a boyhood of reading books about Colditz. The breakfast was absolutely fine and my...

Although the host is as described friendly and very knowledgable and the breakfast is good and presently presented. This hotel needs some drastic refurbishment to get a better mark from me. Bed sheets that are so thin you can see the mattress dirty stains on the carpet and tumble weeds under the bed plus the bonus of someone else's sock!...

We arrived in Colditz after traveling for the past 5 weeks and the first thing we saw was our own country's flag flying (we are from a small South Pacific country) Ralph our host had gone out and brought one, We found Ralph to be very helpful and full of information He carried our bags up the stairs for us...

We knocked on Ralph's door at 8.30 on a Saturday evening, Colditz is a quiet town and so we were delighted when the door was opened! We were welcomed in by Ralph who gave us a room, advised us where to park the car and where we could get supper. The room had the most wonderful view of the castle,...

Great room at a good price. The host is extremely gracious, accommodating and a real history buff. It was worth the price of the room just to spend an hour speaking to the history about the history of the POW camp and the surrounding area. The rooms are cozy and comfortable (lots of hot water and a super comfortable bed)....

When internet said everywhere was full we turned up here to find very friendly helpful host, large room clean bathroom, very reasonable too! Would recommend Waldschlokchen with lovely garden for dinner. Up the top of the town, don't leave it too late to turn up.

This Gasthaus is in a rural, historic location I have wanted to visit for years and it didn't disappoint. The room was fine, and the breakfast was excellent, but the real reason to stay in Colditz, is Colditz Castle. The extended tour was outstanding, and I'm pleased I stayed the night in the town as the castle is brilliantly lit...

I, My father and my brother have stayed here on numerous occasions. All I can say is that it is a great little B&B, with a great owner, who provides stories and knowledge of Colditz. I cannot understand these people who expect 5* hotels in this town, as it doesn't exist. You are here to experience this beautiful part of...
