This place is a little paradise on earth, with service-minded, friendly staff who are there for you at all times, willing to add that little extra to make your visit as pleasant as possible. Thank you Ivan & co - I hope we will be back.
Superb! An oasis of tranquility and greenery, flowers, palms, cacti everywhere. Clean, equipped rooms. Clean linen and towels, functional air conditioning. Wifi good. Playground for children in the middle of nature. the 5-star staff, all super-friendly, from IVAN the owner, to the caretaker of all the plants and trees in the residence, including Carmen at the reception, Giuseppe from the restaurant, the cooks, all. private beach with deck chairs and umbrellas, sand and rocks in the sea, so do not come without shoe and bath shoe. Sea, unreal clean, topaz. Superb swimming pool. Excellent restaurant, very good food, ok prices. do not forget to bring "guns" for small, but aggressive and omnipresent Italian zanzaris. Rent a car, rent a scooter or a bike-available. the location is very suitable for family with children, there is almost no entertainment in the area and the nearest supermarket with everything you need and good prices is 3 km. That's the only reason I did not give 5 stars. there is a charge transfer from Lamezia Terme Airport. You need to know that the IVAN patron is so kind that he offered and even transported me to the supermarket with his personal car, I waited for half an hour to buy everything I needed and brought me back for free !!! I highly recommend ! .…
With 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor and "Superb" accolade on a popular hotel booking website, I thought I couldn't go wrong. Whilst our holiday wasn't bad, it fell below our expectations in some areas. Pros: - friendly and helpful owners - clean sea water, nice looking sunbeds and deck chairs on the beach - free transfers by car to the supermarket on request - transfer and pick up to the nearby town of Tropea for a small fee. - our villa had a nice terrace with a fantastic view over the sea and sunset. - beautifully maintained gardens around most villas, although our villa seemed to be outside the main territory of the complex. - a small food shop on the beach for daily shopping - airport pick up and drop off is cheaper at EUR60 than the taxi from the airport (EUR70) Cons: - The villa we stayed in was probably one of the older ones and seems to need renovation - Shabby kitchen, no kettle, toaster or dishwasher. No kitchen kit (dishwasher liquid, sponge, kitchen towel). Old scratched non-stick pans, had to buy a new one as couldn't use the ones provided. - cobwebs in places, blocked sink and shower, somewhat unpleasant smell in the bathroom (blockage cleaned by the owner promptly though) - hard uncomfortable mattresses - uncomfortable pillows, some of them dirty and torn - air conditioner blowing at full speed with no breaks when on, too cold at night - our villa was on the hill and close to the small road with cars scooters and tractors running loudly along it occasionally - supermarket and fruit shop about 10 mins walk from the villa, some of it uphill and not too comfortable in the heat, although the owners offer to give a lift. These shops have very limited selection of groceries, so not a great idea if you wanted to cook your own meals - Although we received codes for wi-fi we never managed to get it to work. I am sure most of these issues could have been resolved as the owners seem eager to help. However running up and down the hill from the villa to the reception with every question in the 30 C heat seemed too much for us so we didn't even mention some of these issues to them. Maybe it would be helpful if they could pay us a visit a couple of times and ask if everything was as expected. They are friendly, but don't expect them to ask you if there is anything they can do for you - you have to go and tell them if something is wrong. Conclusion: A decent enough option if you don't expect much. Could be so much better with small improvements (new pillows, half-week though cleaning and bed change and a kettle in the kitchen). Don't assume you can always get a table at the restaurant for dinner, best to book one day before. Bring rubber swimming shoes. Rent a car if you can to go shopping properly of you plan to do self catering. Bring cash as restaurants take cash, you can pay for your meals in reception but there will be an admin charge. PS The area is mostly popular with Italians, don't expect people to speak English. The owners speak English well enough to communicate. Some villas are closer to the reception, the restaurant and the beach than others. Our villa was the farthest away from the beach it seems.…
Don't often give a 5star review but this one was/is worth it. From initial reception till leaving, was just perfect. Reception and bar/restaurant is next to the beach, some smaller appts next between reception and pool. A 100m further you'll find the larger appts (which is very calm with young kids. Oasis style (what s in a name) Staff and owners very friendly. Maybe you'll find the kitchen equipment bit too limited (however sufficient, probably was missing my kitchen), but our mistake: should have opted for full pension earlier. For pranzo & dinner choice of 2 primi and 2 secondi. Modif's where possible for the kids (parents weren't difficult:-)) The pool has a child pool area, large enough and the area can be closed. Was very clean. Overall it was a great 2 weeks and we will go back. Tip: When you arrive by bike, make sure your breaks are ok, some descent towards the place (and same goes for cars by the way :-), but that normal in that area ;-) Also (for the interested): there is now wifi in the cottages as well, works quite ok but data coverage is very good as well…
We spent four days at this hotel with two children (6 and 8) and we were very staisfied. The apartment houses are spread out in a beautiful garden right next to the beach. There is a pool suitable for kids as well as there is a little splash pool of about 60 cm deep. Our kids enjoyed it very much, water was not too cold even though it was only middle of May. The hotel was clean, quiet (apart from the radio at the pool :)), service was friendly and efficient. There is a little on-site restaurant where the choice is limited but dishes are tasty. We had a breakfeast as well which consisted of pastry, eggs, bread, salami, cheese, cereals, juices, yoghourt and coffee/tee. The rooms are pretty basic but since we spent the day out it did not matter too much. It is advisable to take mosquito alarm or repellent as we were bitten by lots. There is a little shop and cafeteria with ice-cream and cakes about 800 m from the hotel which is not too close on foot but we had a car so it was not a problem. There is a little sandy beach about 1 km north accessible only by using a path on foot. If you are there it is a must, it is absolutely lovely. There is no Wifi in the rooms but there is in the public areas (pool, bar, restaurant) There are two little towns nearby (Tropea and Pizzo) and both have nice old towns with plenty of little shops and restaurants. The only thing we did not like was that if we walked away from our hotel the beach was littered with rubbish.…
