This was our first visit to The Club and we were delighted with the experience. The room we had (superior garden) was spacious, spotless and well equipped. The food and drinks were plentiful, tasty and generally of high quality. All of the staff were exceptionally nice, probably the nicest of any holiday establishment we have stayed at. Amongst all of the positives there is one slight negative and that is that it requires a few steps to enjoy a full sandy beach. But within seconds you will find yourself on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean in front of the Sandy Lane Hotel where the guests pay a bundle more to enjoy its almost private beachfront. The beach is exceptionally quiet, the sea is often like glass and it is the most perfect spot for a swim. Given the prices of other Barbados establishments I thought this place was of very good value.

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed at The Club for the first time this week and had a fabulous stay. It started with check in after a flight with delays from Heathrow, they could see I was tired and stressed and did everything so well to let me relax and start my holiday. Friendly, efficient and fast - everything you would want. As an all inclusive hotel I was unsure of food quality but by the next morning I was seeking out the chef to compliment him on a Caribbean shrimp curry that exceeded all expectations. This was followed by a breakfast where I asked for eggs royale with 2 poached eggs, and they are so happy to accommodate guest requests that I was brought eggs royale with 2 extra eggs on the side, but it was so good that I ate it all. The restaurant staff are all so good that before you even know you want something they are there ready to serve you - the barrista and cake station was especially popular and had many visits. I really cannot compliment the hotel enough from the location, pools and manicured gardens but in particular the smiling friendly staff who really made my stay wonderful. The manager was there every day making sure things ran smoothly, greeting guests and making staff feel valued - they made me feel that I was the most important person there, and to make everyone feel that way is a very difficult thing to do but they pulled if off. I will return as soon as possible and definitely recommend this hotel.

We had an ocean view room. View was fantastic. The service was unbelievably bad. So many examples it is hard to pick a few. Here are three: 1. I am lactose intolerant. Naturally, I ordered coffee with Almond milk (they had almond milk for cereal at breakfast) almost every breakfast, lunch and supper. I received it exactly once. Many of the servers seem to take it as an unreasonable request. Several times no coffee arrived and several other times it took 30+ minutes. 2. I often needed to ask if the menu items had lactose. The most memorable response was one server reading me the description from the menu. The bottom of the menu had a very large disclaimer that they are not responsible for the ingredients in the food. 3. The last day I came by myself to breakfast at 10:15 (they finish at 10:30). Eating by myself seemed to offend. Buffet breakfast (which is very good). Completely ignored by service staff (no water, no coffee). The pools were closed for about half the trip. There was no beach. To get into the ocean. there was a large slippery step into the water. The restaurant had no A/C. It was very hot. One of our party, left several meals due to the heat. The front desk wants 48 hours notice to book an excursion. Not a biggie - we booked online. The one excursion they booked, the transportation never arrived and there was confusion on the payment. Big fight over who should pay for the taxis.

We were greeted by a pleasant Security Guard at the entrance who showed us were to park and where we should go. Then we we greeted with a smile from a young gentleman who took us to a waiting area where we could sit and wait until we were ready to go into the dinning area. When we were ready to dine we went to the reservation desk the lady who greeted us smiled and took us in gave us over to our waitress who seated us and explained what we had available she took our drink order and we enjoyed or dinner the selection was amazing . Everything was delicious. The dinner, the staff and the experience at The Club along with the scenery and the guest were amazing I can’t stop smiling. The staff along with the guest who wished my husband Happy Birthday really made our evening. Ps we were sooooo fulllll. Thank you tho the GM Caroline her staff and guest. We love you. It should really be 4.9/5 as there are a few VERY minor improvements.... Excellent The food, every meal was great quality. We were here for a week and there was plenty of choice. Special mention to Vicki and Natasha on the omelette station, we absolutely loved them and their humour. Room was lovely and the views out on to the pool area were great. The location of the hotel is great for a little walk out to local shops and there is a bus stop right outside. Needing Tweaking There needs to be a couple more toilets in the bar area as there are only three of each for the pool bar, restaurant and sunset bar. They could definitely make more of the sunset bar area, simple things like printing more cocktail menus and laminate them, also a few more seats to enjoy the view would be an easy fix. Overall though, this place is great and as always the review should be based on the price you pay and the perceived value for money... We will be back

At merely the half way point of my weeks break I feel compelled to carry out a public service and advise people NOT TO BOOK THIS HOTEL. This hotel cannot even provide basic standards expected or professional services in a consistent manner and definitely does not meet the 4 stars quoted online. We booked 2 x single occupancy rooms (we splurged as was for a special birthday) and couldn’t have received more different experience. Upon check in both rooms were next to each other as requested - only 1 concern was both on 4th floor which would get even the fittest amongst us heart racing. After bearing with it for the first 24 hours and mum not being able to visit her room as freely as she wished, she was moved to a room whose lock was beyond even the maintenance teams ability to resolve. It was finally replaced, but not until a minimum of 9 visits to reception (with still a few days to go this could be potentially more before checkout!). Although being out of mums control - the saga of the continued visits to reception for some staff seems a funny situation rather than them being embarrassed or apologising that once again time is lost from the trip (which let’s face it was not cheap) but with smirks on their face, as starting to feel personally insulting now. Other issues with the “new room” - battery needing replacing for the smoke detector after beeping all night and having to ask for clean bathroom towels for them not to be supplied freely. Whilst these could be seen as small uncontrollable issues - having the issues with the door lock it is just adding to the unfortunate visits to reception rather than sunning by the pool. There are a large number of individual staff members across the bar/restaurant/reception area who excel in professionalism and service, the rest in these areas by far outweigh and provide the negative experience which we are currently living. If you are still searching for your next destination- keep looking! If you’ve already booked , suggest you get down that gym ahead of the visit or send a note to reception to ask to be on a lower floor and don’t forget to pack: 1. A travel hairdryer (the only complaint for the second room booked) 2. A locksmith 3. Spare batteries for smoke detectors/ torches

We had the most wonderful 9 nights staying here. It was the first time we had ever stayed here and we can't wait to return. This charming and delightful hotel has a truly 'club' feel, making you feel incredibly welcome, and it is very much a 'home away from home.' I have never stayed anywhere that has been so like this. The staff are extremely friendly and charming and good fun, as well as being helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. It was lovely to be somewhere where so many of the guests have been returning year on year on year, some for as many as twenty years. A true tribute to a hotel that looks after its guests and staff and has with stood the test of time. The food is good, the beaches are beautiful, the water is warm, there is a massive programme of daytime and evening entertainment should you so wish. Value for money, rest and relaxation this is the place to come. If you want high end pretentious luxury this is not the place, but if you would like charming, welcoming fun this is it, and it lends itself to lovely guests who are delightful to spend time with, which only adds to your stay. Thank you to all at The Club.

We booked The Club Barbados for a short break with family and friends, and had a great time! After a short wait at reception while our room was sorted out we were taken there by David who arranged for the extra bed which arrived promptly! The garden view suite was lovely, ground floor with a walk in shower and plenty of space. The food was was a mixture of buffet and a la carte in the main restaurant and a la carte in Enid’s, we enjoyed every meal and especially breakfast as the omelettes were excellent. The cocktails were great too! The staff in the bars and restaurants work really hard, they were very helpful and friendly, so many names but special shout out to Vinnie and Guyan, Sonia, Vicki, Careen and Coraline. Watersports were great, my husband and son had a sail every day, it was really well organised and the guys there were very helpful sorting out beach towels. If I had to say anything I think would improve the hotel I’d say a boardwalk from watersports along to the steps down to Sandy Lane beach would be great comfort to the feet! It was lovely being able to walk along the beach there, very easy at low tide and splashy but not impossible later! We went out with Ian at Jus Chillin in his boat one afternoon, he took us up the coast to Speightstown and pointed out all the homes owned by the rich and famous along the way, we could swim with the turtles and wakeboard on the way back, beers and rum punch were provided! Ian can be found on Sandy Lane beach and is well worth booking! Finally I want to mention the manager, Caroline, I have never been to a hotel in the Caribbean with a more visable, approachable manager, she was always helping out, even topping up the wine at the beach barbecue and working on the reception desk in the main restaurant! Well done Caroline and all The Club team. All in all a great few days in the sun, we would love to return soon!

I highly recommend The Club Barbados! From the moment we checked in and throughout our 5 night stay, the staff from front desk, hotel mgr, bartenders, restaurant hostesses, chef, servers, and all the workers there, they welcomed our group with open arms! Best hospitality service I’ve experienced. We were spoiled and treated like royalty! They were there to give us the best experience. We will be back and I’m sharing the experience with everyone! Thank you all for making our stay spectacular! God bless you all
