We absolutely loved our stay at Anamar. The luxury camp experience was above and beyond all expectations. So much has to do with the host / owner Youssef. He responded quickly with communication prior to our arrival and extended all that we could want to enjoy, including the dreamy camel ride and 4x4 drive to visit nomads. The pictures don't do the place justice as the sunset and night sky were dreamy. We loved it!

I spent a night at Desert Camp Amanar with my wife and 9 years old daughter. We were in the middle of a 5 day tour with Saha Tours – the place belongs to the tour company owner. Tents were fantastic – much better than I ever expected. Service was outstanding, and meals above and beyond anything one expects out of a desert camp. Being there was a fantastic experience and I would absolutely recommend the place to everyone wanting a great experience in the Sahara desert in Morocco.

We stayed at this camp for one night on a tour of Morocco. What a great experience. Beginning with a 45 minute camel ride to the camp is an experience not to be missed. Just this awakens the senses to the desert colours and sounds. We were welcomed to the camp and shown our rooms which were furnished in a Berber style, with comfy beds, and an en suite and although hot at the end of the day were lovely and toasty as the night got colder. We walked outside the camp and enjoyed a beautiful sunset before dinner. Dinner was outside and a lovely couple of tagines accompanied by salads and the trimmings finished with fruit. After this we enjoyed Berber music around the fire although I'm not sure the musicians enjoyed our attempts to reciprocate at the end! After star gazing a little we enjoyed a good sleep until we woke early to see a magic sunrise. We enjoyed a great breakfast before hopping back on our camels for the trip back to meet our driver for the rest of our trip. We all agreed this was one of the highlights of our time in Morocco, and even perhaps of all the travelling we have done so far. Do this if you can.

Our 9 day tour around Morocco included an overnight stay in a desert camp. The overnight stay in Camp Amanar was prearranged and we did not know what to expect. After a 45 minute camel ride from town, we arrived at this campsite. What a pleasant surprise. There may be several camps of this nature in the vacinity but this camp seems very isolated from civilization. The individual sleeping tents, all have running hot/cold showers and toilets. I loved the black marble fossil sink. Comfortable cozy beds all decked out in berber carpets and bedding and oh so cozy at night away from the desert chill. The camp setting is very rustic, the one lad that was attending our meals was very attentive. There was only a another party at the camp. The dinner and breakfast was wonderful, best that I had on my whole trip. Small group but we still had a bonfire and all the staff entertained us on drums. It might have been more lively had there been more campers. Unforgetable star gazing in the desert, lovely sunset and sunrise. I don't have any ways to compare Camp Amanar Khaimas with others. This camp more than meet our expectations and remains the highlight of our trip.
