We are a small, cosy guesthouse facing the fjord of Kongsfjord and the Barents Sea, 35 Km from Berlevåg, Finnmark. We offer 7 rooms in 2 restored pre-war buildings and a unique fishermen's cottage just some meters from the sea. We welcome our guests in a quiet, homely atmosphere, surrounded by a dramatic nature. Wonderful destination for birdwathing. Traditional food in our fully dicensed restaurant.

One of a very few places in northern Norway that wasn’t burned down by the Germans. Realy nice atmosphere, fine cabins and good food. It’s like visiting an old italian familyhotel, but with the facilities from northern Norway. Wonderful hiking opportunities close by for everyone.

Very clean, comfortable rooms with views of the fjord. Great birdlife close by but no way noisy or disturbing. Restaurant very good set menus but catering for other requirements. Great fresh food. Highly recommended.

I really loved this guesthouse. It was a series of old houses on the Veines peninsula that really tell a story. Our room was clean, cosy and despite bringing me back in time, it had all modern comfort. I also loved the art exhibibition consisting of works of their artist neighbors which you can buy. Most work is made of recycled wood. Also the food was fine. Breakfast was simple but fresh. Dinner was simply delicious. The dining room is also nicely decorated with a medieval looking tapestry as an eye catcher. This place breaths history. There is a nice hiking path behind the hotel that leads to the remains of German bunkers. It is hard not to get emotioned by it. On top of the bill there were two reindeer making our day. If I really have to make a comment I might state that the internet is quite limited, but if you are there, you might just not worry about that. The staff is really friendly and helpful. This is a trip back in history, fetched up by modern art inspired by local nature.…

Visited the Gjestehus on an organised trip. The location is a few hundred meters outside of Kongsfjord and is a cluster of lovingly refurbished houses. It’s a great place to stay if you are in the area. The owners and staff are very welcoming and the food is good home style cooking.

My wife and me spent two nights in this super tranquil area. Our plan was stay just one night, but when we entered the gjestehus my wife told me must stay longer, unfortunately our plan didn't allow more than two nights. It is an area, not a building, handred meter out of Kongsfjord, some houses, some rooms for rent and a common area. It is a place for a week at least. And place for Aurora. Our kind hostess gave us a room with amenities, nice room for two nights . With puffins decorating. The area was the best I saw in all Finnmark, very good for hiking, also we had a vast dark area out of our room and saw two nights the best Aurora dance in whole our 13 days trip ( 13 nights, 6 nights aurora!). I wanna say the route between Kongsfjord and Berlevag was the most scenic road I drove In all Finnmark, we did it many times in our short stay. If you continue from Berlevag to Molvik ( not asphalt, but fine) you get a great view of arctic at the end. Ase and Margherita was so , so kind. They served us a delicious dinner and two yammi breakfast, also gave us some hints for the hiking. I wanna say, great hostesses, great hospitality. I never forget my 24 hour hiccups finnished at the moment I entered the gjestehus area. We will come back.…

Excellent location, we stayed in a restored fisherman’s hut on stilts above the water, there are Common Terns and Tysties nesting on an old jetty 25 metres from the windows. We are nature photographers and brilliant area for Black and Red throated divers, Ruff, L T Duck many waders and resident Gryfalcons.

Spendt a weekend at Kongsfjord Guesthouse with work, and all i can say is that it was amazing. From the cozy old houses and rooms, the spectacular view to the homecooked meals we were served. And if you have the oppurtunity, talk to Åse, she is a fantastic lady with so many stories to tell! i will absolutely take my family back to this place!

Visited Kongsfjord Gjestehus on a study trip for Up Norway. This guest house is truly special and well worth the journey to get there. This is the perfect place to get away from the crowd, to find peace and enjoy powerful nature. The old buildings are beautifully renovated and the hospitality of the people is warmly felt. A walk or run out to the lighthouse at Veines Peninsula and a visit to the Biotope birdwatching shed comes highly recommended.
