Friendly family run hotel , needs a little TCL in bedrooms but clean and, adequate. The restaurant is modern and food delicious. Friendly welcoming staff makes for a nice relaxing weekend on the Norfolk coast
Excellent Sunday Carvery throughly enjoyed by myself and hubby. The Beef was just so tender. Choice of 4 meats and lots of vegetables to choose from. Best of it it was all hot as can't abide lukewarm food. Look forward to returning. Tip Make sure...More
We use the Royal Hotel regularly every time we stay in Mundesley. (Friends own a cottage there that we use).
Well stocked bar and friendly staff always make you welcome. They also have a coffee shop serving a variety of drinks and cakes.
We visited as a family group of 11 on Boxing Day. The menu was very reasonable & the carvery option was impressive! Plenty of tables for large gatherings. The carvery itself was brilliant. Usually you only get the choice of one meat - we had...More

i can't remember my room number either. Stayed here for 2 nights. 2 very expensive nights as they only had executive suites left. And by executive it just had a big 4 poster bed, other then that it was the same as every other room. Staff were fairly friendly, (in particular the bar staff).
I wasn't overly impressed with our room due to the shower. I did report this but it was given via post-it note to the maid that probably just gave the shower head a wipe... It needed a new shower head. I've been rained on harder then that shower. plus our room smelled bad too. But anyway, it was only 2 nights. On night 2, they put a couple with a yappy dog in the next room. Every single person that passed by it barked at. All day Saturday and carried on Sunday morning at 6.40am. Yes we mentioned this to the staff too. We just got told they do ask if dogs are well behaved or not when people book... Well that's good to know, didn't make our stay any less noisy for the most expensive room they have on offer. Probably won't visit here again.
