I have stayed at the Albany twice and both times I have loved it so much. They have a great beautiful pool with great views of the city like amazing views. First time I went I stayed in a room with a kitchenette and two singles in that area and a queen in another area with the bathroom i was... More

I once gave this place a great review. This time around they actually requested I book elsewhere and not come back because I moved furniture around. I got a horrible attitude from the old bag of a manager who then made the new manager ask me to vacate. I had done actually nothing major at all and the whole debacle... More

Really tired old hotel. Very noisy with cheap prices which attract the wrong sort of people. People I don't want to share with. Home late and very noisy. Smoking in the lobby and generally just really loud and annoying. The only saving grace to this was the wonderful staff.

We were a tad confused about the room given what we had booked and seen on the website. We were in a room with a view of the fence. It had not been cleaned and was not up to standard. We were aware it was rated three stars, but still expected cleanliness. The staff were friendly and did upgrade us... More

I was upgraded on arrival to a suite. Cavernous room in the original building. The King bed was disappointing. Two singles shoved together. One mattress should have been in a skip! The other side got me through. Basics were missing-no teaspoon with the coffee making facilities, no booklet explaining what's available on site and nothing to help an out of... More

Ive stayed in a wide variety of accommodation all over the world for the past 20 years. But the Albany is easily the worst. With all my posts I try to list both the positive and negative aspects to the room, but i could only find negatives. 1. They advertise limited parking available. They should just say none. We hired... More

I spent an overnight stay here as I had medical appointment nearby. I pre paid which on arrival they couldn't confirm, I paid a $100 bond and found my way to my room. The carpet was sticky, stained and funky smelling, the lift felt like I might spend overnight in it. The room....OMG, stained curtains, a stained doona between 2... More

Very quaint hotel, comfortable king bed, nice breakfast very reasonably priced. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very handy to tram device and close to Chapel Street and easy to get into CBD. The only negative was the television in our room was not very good. Would recommend and would definitely stay again

I am only writing now because i can't believe the responses from the Albany. Pretending they care. We booked for three nights & paid upfront. Ok, its quirky in a kinda cool way. But the room smelled like weed & the vent was a health hazard. We got a phone call on the second day by management who asked us... More

Set on South Yarra’s most picturesque streets, nestled between beautiful Fawkner Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens is a historically eccentric boutique hotel waiting to excite you. Perfectly placed on the doorstep to famous Chapel Street, the CBD and the MCG you’ll be torn between wanting to explore the quirks and grooviness of The Albany and getting around to all the hotspots Toorak is renowned for. Shabby chic meets rock star glam and a bit of French boarding house with refreshingly good service is just a hint of what to expect before stepping foot through the Manhattanesque front entrance. Uber comfortable beds, black and white mural posters plus bursts of red and lime will turn an average sleepover in Toorak to a fun and fashionable stay whether you’re turning in after a night out on the town with friends or here for business. Of course, you can expect all the necessities a boutique hotel has to offer as well as all the extras including delicious breakfast, on-site parking, fantastic value for money, and yes… you can bring your furry friend with you too! ... more   less
