We had a couple of nights here as a beach break after motorbike tour of the Picos Mountains and La Rioja. The room was large, clean and tidy. The bed was massive! It is well worth the extra for a beach view. Parking for the bike was in their small off street park, hard to get in but easy to get out! Hotel WiFi works on the beach. COVID-19 breakfast was good and plentiful and we felt safe here. We ate in the restaurant on the first night which was tasty and fine.
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and the sunset view was wonderful! This is a five star restaurant and it was appropriate. We had fresh fish, ox tail and lamb chops. The deserts were very unique to this area of Spain. It was a highlight of our vacation trip!
Good location, looked very busy along the seafront but the hotel does have a dedicated free parking lot. Room was generous with a nice view of beach & across the water. Room needed some attention - shower had some areas of black mould and in the room a socket was half out of the wall. Downstairs bar was very busy and service was not at the table. Had dinner in their restaurant - food perfectly ok, service was variable. Breakfast choice was good but deserted - no staff for ages to offer coffee etc. Although we liked the location we probably wouldn't stay here again.
Wonderful boutique hotel right on the sea front. Superb location even at this time of year. Really nice room overlooking sea with large comfy bed. Deducted one blob because there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room (and I would expect them at the price) and the shower, whilst powerful, was lukewarm.
We had 3 nights here as part of our holiday following La Vuelta a Espana. Our sea facing room was large and airy and very comfortable and quiet. There are a selection of restaurants at the hotel plus others in close proximity. A very good buffet breakfast is served in a room overlooking the beach. One thing which does let it down is that the tables out front of the bar are not kept clean and that makes it look a bit scruffy, which is a shame as all the food we had there was very good. The chicken wings are recommended. The beach is pleasant with beds and umbrellas for rent right outside the hotel. It is a pretty hazardous tide there and the lifeguards are very vigilant to keep people safe. All in all, a great place to be before heading to the ferry.
I had lunch with some friends and we had really good shrimps, foie, but the best where the fishes, really good. The service is really nice and professional. Great views to the beach. I will repeat for sure
I stayed at the Hotel Igeretxe for about a week for a work visit. It is right on the beach which makes up for a pretty average hotel. I could not sort out the room service, or if it was even available. The safe in the room was not electronic and I had to request a key from the front desk to use it. They also don’t have a business center. Also, despite being a non-smoking hotel, my room definitely had been occupied by a smoker at some point. All in all, it might be perfect if you’re there on holiday, but wouldn’t really recommend for business travel.
We stayed here with our two year old daughter for three nights. Very happy with our stay, cleaning, front staff, breakfast, location, accessibility. We had a beautiful view of the beach, and the bed was seriously huge. Enormous. Could’ve slept 5 people in it. We had dinner at the restaurant, great service and knowledge. My husband had the best sirloin he’s ever had. The beach isn’t the best but that has nothing to do with the actual hotel. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
This is the best location in Getxo with an uninterrupted view of the ocean. The room was tidy, well appointed, spacious and with a view of the sunset. the room was always well serviced and comfortable. We had B&B, and the breakfast each day was a good selection of fresh fruit and continental-style food. The bar and cafe outside was grand for sitting in the sun with a glass of something and we also used the main restaurant which served excellent, freshly prepared fish. All in all good value and will definitely be back.
Travelled to see Leinster win the European Cup! Managed to book this hotel at a reasonable price compared to the daylight robbery that was happening in the rest of Bilbao area! Lovely location on the beach. Cool art deco style architecture and recently refurbished very tastefully. Bedrooms are excellent. Spacious, comfortable and quiet. Big function rooms with great views to the sea which seem to be busy with yoga, weddings, etc. Real seaside air to the building and it is a nice comfortable size hotel. Good bar and dining options on the lower level and nice service. Great front desk service also. 10 minutes walk to the subway (runs a 24 hours) which takes 25 minutes into the city centre. Not too far from the airport. Worked very well for us even though a bit out of town. We won the rugby but pity it rained most of the weekend.…
