We wanted a chambre d'hote in easy driving distance to Auxerre, itself an underappreciated town with a wonderful centre ville and a fabulous medieval clock tower. This place was only ten minutes drive south of the Auxerre town center. It's a restored chateau, with a heated pool for the kids (or adults), and a beautiful garden, containing all sorts of...

The chateau is as perfect as I thought it would be when I booked it. My family and I loved staying here. It is a short driving distance from Auxerre and was also convenient for our wine tour of the Chablis area. You actually stay in the outbuilding of the 16th century castle. The rooms were very nice and spacious...

We stayed at the end of a road trip and before our long return flight home. We couldn't have chosen a more welcome and beautiful accommodation for our two-night stay. Matthew, our host, greeted us with enthusiasm and warmth, sharing the remarkable history of the chateau and amazing dovecote and offering harvest from the garden after our long drive. The...

My husband and I had a two night stopover en route home from Provence. We were welcomed by the owner and shown our room and the facilities, which were all absolutely spotless! Has has beautifully renovated the large barn/stables/coach house opposite his house. Unlike a previous reviewer, we knew that that is where we would be staying- not in the...

We stayed at Chateau de Ribourdin for two nights. It's a very beautiful castle with a pool next to it. Breakfast was excellent with home made yoghurt, jam made from berries in the garden, delicious croissants, bread and fruit, all served next to the pool in the garden. The manager gave us many useful recommendations about restaurants, wineries and beautiful...

We didn't stay at this place, but I was so appalled by my encounter with the owner that I decided I should share it with fellow travelers. I sent booking request for 2 people to stay in September. Got reply from the owner that room is available and I should sent him my credit card number, address, phone number and...

Dear, I just read your comment on our Bed & Breakfast and please excuse us if you have found us nasty. You allow yourself to judge me quickly on a written formulation, but will discredit my honesty and my pleasure to open my property to guests from around the world. My answer may have been clumsy and too fast but...

My husband and I recently spent a night at the Chateau de Ribourdin. It was our first night in in the French countryside, having spent the first couple of days in Paris. The beautiful pastoral sites of beautiful canola fields all around the Chateau was a great start to our holiday. it was only a 5-minute walk from the village...

This is a brilliant place and I cannot speak highly enough of it. I first stayed here in 2006 with my husband on a small group trip led by my brother-in-law. In October, I did another trip taken again by my brother-in-law for 6 of us through Burgundy and Provence. He always chooses to bring his groups here because the...

It is a bit out of the way and we had a bit of difficulty finding it as our GPS wasn't working, but it was worth the trip. It was so absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The son spoke some English and I some French so we could communicate. Tour of the dovekeep was interesting and breakfast was delightful. The Bridges,...

We stayed at the Chateau for four nights in august and although the weather wasnt what we expected, the chateau more than made up for this. Matthew & Claude were very hospitable and we were charmed by all the little details. The breakfast was delicious, more than we could finish. The garden was beautifully laid out and very well maintained....
