We stayed in a chalet with plans to do the Tongariro Crossing but the weather was too bad. The owners are very knowledgeable and gave us other shorter hikes to do in the bad weather. The chalet was clean and had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. And it's only a very short drive to the trail head!

My wife and I stayed in a chalet for two nights and had a lovely time. Callum, his wife, and employees are top notch people who made our overall Tongariro Crossing experience very memorable. It was the perfect place to stay.

Lovely chalet accommodation, wonderful view of the mountain and good shuttle service for the crossing. Really impressed with the meals we had in the restaurant and restaurant staff - friendly and helpful. Great location to check out other things in the area. Would stay again.

Stayed in the bigger chalet. Great view of the mountains. Very clean interior. Easy parking just by the chalet. Chalet could accommodate 5 persons but there would not be any walking space. Its a pity there wasn't any outdoor furniture. Nobody had a proper shower because the pressure was very low and it couldn't be regulated, its either very hot...

We only stayed for one night (in a Backpackers Ensuite room) and basically just slept and showered since we got up early to do the Tongariro Crossing. For that purpose it was a good place to stay. Very cosy and clean. The only thing that looked outdated was the TV, but that's not what should bring you out there anyway...

Stayed in the backpacker ensuite room, basic but very comfortable. Good value. I am a skier and photographer and the proximity to the Whakapapa skifield, walking tracks and the views of the mountains was great. There is a restaurant and nice lounge area with big screen tv. It is a bit isolated, about 9km from National Park Village so you...

We arrived on a wet evening after dark and while the lady on reception was very pleasant. She directed us to the campsite where there where no light and none of the facility blocks had any lights on. It was not very welcoming. We had chosen this site as it had a restaurant on site and we knew that there...

We stayed in one of the chalets for two nights in July. The room was cozy and modern and had great views of the mountains. We ate in the restaurant the first night and enjoyed the hearty food and great service. All of the staff were very friendly, genuine and knowledgable about the area. This was really helpful, especially for...

Our experience here was great, though not necessarily typical since we were tenting on their back lawn, and only used their bathrooms and cooking area. The lady at the front desk was very good to us, and was genuinely concerned that we be prepared for the night (it snowed). The facilities were clean and spacious, we survived the cold, and...
