Aurora Estate is a boutique hotel and reastaurant which was established at december 2015 at Yllasjarvi. Hotel has 7 individual rooms and a restaurant that has 50 seats. We also have in our estate an old Lappish log house and that same atmosphere was brought in to our newly built main building. In the old loghouse we have an electric sauna and shower, at the estate we also have an outdoor jacuzzi and a traditional smoke sauna, which you can book separately.

I got a warm welcome, got spoiled two weeks long from the Team and got a warm farewell... It's a real nice quiet place next to the lake, with a nice view and the hotel is only 3-4 years old... Supermarket, bus station and country ski tracks are only 200m away... I liked Sirly cooking art, exceptional breakfasts and dinners, food quality, plate presentation and the lovely detailed explanations about what you get in your plate! ;-) I enjoyed the atmosphere with love to details and the music in the dining room! It's very clean, i had a good bed and i appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine in my room... ;-) Mirja is a sunshine!!

We stayed for 4 nights here while holidaying in Finland for 3 weeks. It was a nice change to stay in a smaller boutique hotel and in a quieter location next to the lake. We loved the sauna and jacuzzi and we loved jumping in the frozen lake, what an experience for an australian family. So much so that we booked it again while we were there. The rooms are quite small but we found they were adequate if you popped the suitcases on top of the wardrobe and the rooms we not much smaller than the rooms we've stayed in elsewhere. The breakfasts were huge, more than enough for our family and a great selection too. We had dinner only 1 night and the food was fabulous, fine dining style, small portions but all excellent. It was pricy, but then for us everything in finland has been pricy…

Sitting in the airport waiting for my plane, and thinking back on a very memorable stay at Aurora Estate. What a high-mark in hospitality! Heidi never tires of making the guests’ stay as pleasurable as possible, while Sirly is a truly excellent cook. We had 5 diners and the food is simply the best (and apparently famous in the region). Our room was clean and comfortable (although a couple of hooks to hang our skiing gear on to dry would be welcome). Very good beds (I’m 1.87 m)! I have been to Lapland in summer for fly fishing, but would certainly recommend a winter stay. If you do, stay here! (And Sirly: if you start offering fishing trips I will certainly be back in summer).

We stayed as a two couples during the glory of Lappish Autumn. Aurora Estate is a delightful Bed and Breakfast where the hosts Heidi and Sirly make you most welcome in their character-filled establishment. The location is superb by the lake and is supported by a number of facilities. The meals produced by Masterchef Sirly are class leading using the best quality ingredients. We look forward to return.

Lovely stay overall. Food and service was excellent. Great location overlooking a lake, sauna house was very good. The rooms are small but well decorated, excellent shower. The two young ladies running the hotel are very professional and you can feel their passion for their business.

We booked a 4-night stay at the Aurora Estate Hotel a couple of months before our visit in February as a trip for my 50th birthday. Prior to our visit I exchanged emails with Heidi who was very helpful in answering all my questions. We decided to take the bus from Kittilä airport as it was only €12.5 each way (much cheaper than €80 for a taxi and ours was the first stop after the airport) - on request it drops you very close to the hotel. Although there was thick snow it was an easy 200 metre walk from the drop off by the small supermarket to the hotel. We checked in and were shown to our room which was at the top of the stairs and had a nice view overlooking what is probably fields thick with snow! The room was rather ‘bijoux’ and with two suitcases of cold weather gear it…

We have visited the restaurant yearly since Aurora Estate opened and the restaurant has been excellent every time. This was our first overnight stay in the hotel. The room was charming, very clean and beautiful. The breakfast was served to the table and was very tasty.

We stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon and were blown away by the magic of the place! We received such a warm welcome when we arrived and booked a table for dinner that evening in the hotel’s restaurant. The food was incredible!!! And the service was brilliant. The next morning we started the day with a delicious breakfast, the attention to detail was really good. We were then lucky enough to book a private slot in the hotel’s sauna and jacuzzi (and of course took a plunge in the frozen lake!). A definite must! If you would like to eat at a set time or guarantee a slot in the sauna, I would recommend booking this ahead of your trip as I think we were really lucky to get this to work for us.
