Not sure what has happened to Redbrow recently, but cannot agree with some of the previous glowing reviews. Cannot comment on the hosts as we only met Elizabeth briefly on arrival and had no further contact. There was no introduction to the property and the facilities depicted on the website were not open. The Guest Lounge was locked, BBQ area...

Dear Wendy. Thank you for your comments following your 1 night stay with us. Whilst we continue to receive excellent reviews in our guest book, we understand that there will be guests who are perhaps more suited to a city hotel. Elisabeth provided you with our 2 bedroom en suite room at no extra cost after you complained about your...

From the minute we made the first enquiry, David and Elizabeth were the most welcoming hosts. The gardens are truly gorgeous and it was inspiring to learn the hosts had transformed the entire property themselves from the former paddock. We loved the initial journey down the driveway past cherry blossom trees, daffodils, alpacas and chickens. David was so accommodating, setting...

The room was well appointed, warm and the bed was great. The property was quite enchanting. Although not in the best season to see it in its glory, it was obvious that it has displayed colour and brilliance. The hosts, Elizabeth and David were friendly and helpful. The breakfast items were provided but you were left to prepare yourself -...

Sad to say Deb and James will be leaving Redbrow this week. Our fourth visit was to experience our favourite place one last time. Lots of laughter around the fireplace made extra special having James and Deb join us. We have never met such wonderful hosts over the past 4 years. Each year 8 friends meet at Redbrow and have...

Dear Lisa, Thanks so much for your kind words. We are heartbroken to be leaving, having thought we would have a few more years to enjoy the company of lovely guests such as yourselves! For potential future guests, we advise that the property owners are returning to Redbrow and the trip advisor reviews prior to July 2013 should be referred...

Last year we attended a wine tasting event at Redbrow and we were immediately struck at the beauty and tranquillity of Redbrow....it's kind of like stepping into a picture book. At that time all I could think of was what a perfect place to have a gathering of some sort.... Fast forward a year to the day nearly....we had the...

We have stayed at Redbrow Garden 4 times now and every time has been brilliant. We are always made especially welcome by the very friendly and considerate hosts - James and Debbie. We now consider them our friends and would highly recommend anyone to stay at Redbrow as long as they are still there. They keep the place lovely and...

The venue is beautiful. It's absolutely stunning. But it doesn't come close to making up for the amount of added stress that the host put on my friend who booked her wedding here. The lady outright refused to have any dealings with the bride at all (even for very basic questions) and insisted on only talking to the groom. There...

Dear Vic B, I am in complete agreement with you. Rachel and Myles' wedding in mid March was indeed lovely. Thank you for your kind words about how stunning and gorgeous the property looked. It was an honour and a privilege as always to be part of such a special occasion. As our wedding celebrations at Redbrow now reach 50...

We stayed here for a couple of nights to relax after a strenuous week in the snow. It was really a lovely place to stay - the room was large, well decorated and very comfortable. We stayed in one of the riverside rooms and opening the back doors in the morning to sit out and have a cuppa was gorgeous...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Redbrow Garden Guesthouse is a multi award winning property located in the heart of the cool climate wine region just 20 minutes drive from Australia's National Capital, Canberra. Located just over the state border in New South Wales, it is situated close to numerous renowned wineries and gourmet restaurants. The property has 4 modern, lakeside en suite rooms. One en suite room has a second bedroom with an additional 2 single beds, ideal for family use. The en suite rooms also have access to a kitchenette/dining room with good facilities and a large guest lounge area with fireplace and Foxtel. Owners David and Elisabeth Judge started planting in a bare paddock in 1997 and by 2001 had planted over 30,000 trees and shrubs around the existing lake which is the centrepiece to the garden, a natural wetland habitat for numerous water birds and other Australian wildlife. After 20 years the ecological transformation of the property is hard to believe. David and Elisabeth built the accommodation complex in 2004, winning numerous awards during their management between 2005 and 2013. After 3 years under recent management, owners David and Elisabeth have returned to Redbrow Garden Guesthouse in 2016. We look forward to renewing old friendships and welcoming new guests to a special part of Canberra's rural fringe. ... more   less
