We visited Black Rock Lodge in June with our 17 year old daughters. The staff was extremely accommodating, the day tours and on-site activities were amazing . The food, location, and cabin the best! We enjoyed river tubing, hiking ATM, horse back riding to Xunatunich, zip-lining at Captain Jacks, and a day trip to Tikal. We will happily go back!

We stayed at Black Rock Lodge for 4 nights in early July. It was everything we had hoped. The cliffs, river, and rain forest surrounding the lodge were spectacular. I was equally impressed with Black Rock guide's extensive knowledge of Belizean wildlife, history, and culture. Regarding activities, I highly recommend the trip to Tikal... the ruins in the rain forest...

We loved the Black Rock Lodge. The setting is so beautiful. The lodge is well thought out as it blends in with the surroundings and we were impressed how 'eco friendly' it is. The service by all staff was outstanding. The guides were knowledgeable, fun and polite. The food was excellent. We met some really interesting people and enjoyed all...

Black Rock Lodge delivered: the scenery, the service, the comforts, and guides. It's hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed in. We were greeted by Giovanni with freshly squeezed juices when we arrived. We were in cabin 16, which is one of the new river front suites. It was incredible! Private porch, gorgeous bathroom, beautiful stone floors. We...

My partner and I loved Black Rock Lodge. It was set in the beautiful rainforest just out of San Ignacio town. You wake up to the beautiful rainforest and views of a mountain side and river below you. The staff were so friendly and ran excellent tours of which there are lots to choose from depending on what you would...

This is not the cheapest place to stay, but still offers good value for money... We stayed two nights to relax and visited the ruins of Caracol. The rooms are great, spacious and clean...this is a lodge in the middle of rain forest, so expect some insects from that ecosystem to discover your rooms... but never to the point of...

A must stay!! Located down a loooooooong bumpy dirt road, past teak forest, beautiful waterfall and lush vegetation...it's an eco-lodge in the jungle. Sits atop a river with huge jungle across the river. Bird watching from the open dining area. It's a trek from any town so plan on eating here for breakfast and dinner. The staff hands out the...

Like everyone else, my husband and I were blown away by Black Rock. Its located down a rocky road but the reward is at the end when you reach the beautiful lodge in the jungle. It's secluded so it's about 20mins from San Ignacio but the hotel offers everything you need. The grounds are beautifully kept while maintaining the natural...

We have stayed at Black Rock twice now, and will definitely return on our next visit to Belize. Top ten reasons: 1) birds, 2) bees (we are entomologists), 3) rooms (clean and quiet), 4) canoeing the Macal River, 5) guides Giovanni and Elvis, 5) great place to hike, 6) wonderful food, 7) dinner set up so that you meet the...
