The Lodge is fantastic. I really cannot fault it. We had a river suite, which is slightly more expensive than some of the other rooms but worth every penny extra. Views of the river, the massive black rocks and the rainforest in general were stunning. Each evening we swam in the river before going to dinner - perfect peace and...

I cant say enough about the wonderful welcome that we received from BRL. Giovanni, Petra, Ignacio, Rocky, and the list of names goes on and on. The rooms were all first class and in clean immaculate condition and all with enough room not to be disturbed by your neighbor. The views from all aspects of the resort not a lodge,...

Blackrock was great. Beautiful wildeside hike, and ATM tour. Petra, a general manger helped organize an ATM tour for me and my boyfriend with travel to Belize city after so we could take the boat to Caye Caulker. She was very nice and helpful. This tour was helpful because we were tight on time. The cabins on the river are...

The Black Rock Lodge is a really nice, very quiet mountain get-a-way situated in the middle of two mountain ranges. It has a beautiful river that runs in front of it that you can tube down and it sits up against a rain Forrest with lots of wildlife to look at and Howler Monkey's to listen to about 4:30 every...

My husband and I had an excellent time at the Black Rock Lodge. You are truly in the jungle when you get there. The staff went out of their way to accommodate anything we needed. They were all extremely knowledgeable of not only the grounds but nature, wildlife, and really anything you had questions about. Our cabin was very clean...

My friend and I stayed for seven nights at the end of January / beginning of February 2017 and had a great experience all around! We were in different cabins and both were nicely decorated, spacious and clean. I stayed in cabin 18 (riverfront suite) and it is clearly large enough for a family or group of friends to stay...

We spent four nights at Black Rock Lodge in early February 2017, enjoying the superb hospitality and excellent knowledge of the staff at the lodge. It is nestled in the San Ignacio hinterland in almost complete seclusion in the Belizean rain-forest. We enjoyed mixing with the other guests at meal-times and around the lodge but were blown away when we...

My husband and I just returned from 6 nights at Black Rock Lodge. Our stay couldn't have been better. The location is remote--quiet and elegant cabins that are perched above the Macal River in a deep canyon. We took advantage of many of the lodge's wilderness adventures--guided hiking and bird-watching (including an all-day excursion in which we saw over 100...

We stayed 5 nights in the second week of January 2017. We were looking for a lodge that particularly catered for bird watchers and, after reading the reviews on TA, decided on Black Rock Lodge. It did not disappoint. As other reviews have mentioned the staff is their biggest asset. They were all extremely professional but also friendly so managed to...

Two things stand out at Black Rock Lodge: the magnificent jungle location and unmet hospitality from every staff member. You have to want a remote jungle getaway and it's quite a ways outside San Ignacio, but once you arrive you're immersed in a jungle paradise with toucans and countless tropical bird species and butterflies all around. The have gorgeous hiking...
