I spent a very good time at this lodge, it's nice to disconnect and be in the middle of Nature on a small island. the bungalows are a mixture of roots and cozy which gives a real charm to this place, pleasant swimming pool, comfortable restaurant, and a very varied Indonesian and French menu, a lot of cocktails finally nothing is missing. the staff and the owner ita very very nice and the boss Alain, an exceptional man, really top place and in addition everything was handmade great merit
Sad to say we did not end up staying at Tanjung Bukit as the bathrooms in both rooms were dirty. We let the owner know who seemed put out by our request for a clean room. He did ask his staff to clean the rooms again and although marginally cleaner, they were still pretty dirty. After the second clean, our bedroom received a (dirty and wet) toilet roll next to the bed. Alain and Ita seemed nice, and very relaxed. To his credit, Alain gave us a full refund when he did not have to. However his clear attitude was that the problem was ours, not his, telling us his place was "not the city". We do a lot of camping; we've stayed in plenty of places more basic than Tanjungan Bukit - bamboo huts on the beach where you flush your toilet with a bucket of sea water. We liked the place. It was like hanging out in a tree house with a beautiful sea view. It was just really dirty (see pics). I suspect Alain's laid back nature is his best and worst asset. I was hesitant to write this review because of the calm manner in which he managed our refund. But if that is the case for every visitor who has a poor experience, what is the point of trip advisor reviews? So, with sadness (that I need to write it) and hope (that things improve in this beautiful setting), I submit this review. https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g8707649-d12359719-r735088973-Le_Tanjung-Gili_Gede_Gili_Islands_Pemenang_Lombok_West_Nusa_Tenggara.html#…
Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Excellent cooking and great food. Friendly and helpful staff. Great terrace.I loved the breakfast. Confortable bed. Absolutely delicious calamari curry. Ita and Alain they are the owners and take care of costumers.
We live in Jakarta so this get away was exactly what we were after. Life is very relaxing and simple staying with Alain and Ita, who are wonderful hosts. This is their home and they welcome you as their guests. The food is excellent and Ita caters for all your needs. We stayed here for 3 nights with our two small boys, and Alain arranged for two beds in our room. We loved the small swimming pool and using the two kayaks free for guests to use. We spent one day wandering along the coast and had lunch nearby. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely finished. We would love to come back here to stay!
We literally stumbled on this beauty on Gili Gede and it was one of my favourite stays of our Bali trip! Each room sits on the hillside above the water with beautifully manicured gardens between the small pathways and it is so picturesque, it’s unbelievable! It only gets better when they light the lanterns at night! If you’re looking for a quiet night or two to escape the busy tourist spots- this is your place!
Came for a quick drink and finally stayed 3 nights... Ita and Alain are amazing. Ita cooks great Indonesian food. Alain has amazing life stories. We arrived as tourists, left as friends. The rooms are amazing. Very private though very open. Very high standing for very cheap prices. The garden is a gem. You can explore and snorkle the close virgin islands for crazy fair price and on private trip! Perfect stay. We already can't wait to come back.
We stayed here for 2 nights on our trip to Lombok. Alain arranged pick up from our hotel in Sengiggi and a free boat transfer to Gili Gede. On arrival at the small area the boat was waiting and a short 10 min ride to Tangjung Bukit. We were met by Alain at the shore and climbed the steps to the main area. A warm welcome from the staff and a cool drink before we shown to our room. We were at the top of the level of the bungalows so a beautiful view of the sea. The room was just lovely, so many beautiful lamps and lights. We had an outside seating area comprising of a sofa and chairs. Good sized bathroom, no hot water but it's a new island to tourism so didnt bother us at all!! Comfy bed with a great mossy net.Plenty of luggage space as well. No air con but a ceiling fan for us it was perfect!! One level above the restaurant is a great pool, lovely and cool..most unexpected considering there are only 6 rooms!!! Big squashy been bags and a couple of sunloungers. There are also hammocks scattered around. Cheap massages as well just by the pool. The food was very good, big portions of Indonesian food and some western dishes. Good selection of drinks as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Alain and Ita will happily organise any trips you want fora very good price and provide lots of snorkels, masks and Kayaks. The beach area isn't really swimable due to low lying corals but again we knew that before we came. Alain and Ita do a wonderful job here and if you would like to get away from it all in a rustic enviroment and just relax then it's for you!!!…
Not knowing much about Gili Gede, we found this small resort run by Alan and Ita. The island has only had electricity for a few months and we weren’t sure what to expect. Alan was always very quick to respond to my email questions and they arranged a transfer from our hotel in Kuta for us. The place only has 6 rooms which are simple but beautifully built into the hillside with surrounding terraced gardens. The design is very well thought out and we loved our wooded terrace that surrounded half our room providing great views of the ocean and a cooling breeze. All the staff are very friendly and come from the neighbouring village to help out and learn some English. Alan was there to meet us when we arrived and to see us off after 3 nights which was a nice touch. The restaurant is simple, as you would expect for a small island but with very tasty local food and large portions to match. The whole place feels very preserved and an ideal hideaway from the busy Gili Islands to the north. It is easy to walk around most of island through the local fishing villages and mangrove coastal sections. Alan can also arrange great boat trips to nearby Gili Ringgit and Gili Layar. We also arranged a small trip with a local fisherman who took us out on his family boat where we managed to catch a surprising number of fish, which his wife offered to grill for us. A great little place which I will visit again before the island becomes too developed...…
First, Ita and Alain are some amazing people. The decoration and design is on point. The view is beautiful. The food is absolutely amazing. If you want to experience real top notch indonesian food, this is the right place. Enjoy!
We spent a few days here after staying on mainland Lombok. Following a short boat journey we landed on shore to be greeted by an enchanted little hideaway. The hosts Alain and Ita were wonderful and the standard of food and accommodation far exceeded our expectations for an island that does not have electricity. I envisaged very basic accommodation and little variety of food. I couldn't have been more wrong. There was an array of beautifully prepared Indonesian and European cuisine on offer and a well stocked bar. The rooms were charming and comfortable. Alain's eye for beautiful furniture and decor gave an atmosphere of the colonial east...especially enhanced when sipping gin and tonic on the veranda listening to the cicadas in the jungle!
