It is not easy to get to but the inconvenience is worth it. Stayed for a week in November it was simply magnificent. Vamizi describes itself as being barefoot luxury and it is exactly that. There are no TV's, no docking stations, no ice cream shops or chocolate shops which some barefoot resorts offer! The villas (Kitalas) are magnificent and...

Dear Mark Thank you for reviewing Vamizi! We really enjoyed your visit and are delighted that you enjoyed the diving so much. High praise indeed from such an experienced diver - it truly means a lot. Best wishes and we hope you will return to Vamizi soon the Vamizi team

Our family spent nine fabulous days on Vamizi Island off the coast of Mocambique over New Year. We rented the private Kipila Villa of the Vamizi Island Lodge. This is a paradise. A luxurious island get-away with more activity options than you usually have on these kind of island resorts. However, we focused on scuba diving and being lazy. The...

Dear Olle Thanks for your review of villa Kipila! Your feedback is extremely thorough and we are happy that you had such a magical time on Vamizi. Lighthouse beach is a very special place - next time you are on Vamizi you can try a moonlight walk to look for nesting turtles! The bumpheads are such an incredible sight -...

We stayed at Vamizi Island Lodge in August 2014 and it blew our minds. We wanted a down to earth and remote place with just enough luxury after a very hectic summer of wedding preparations and the Big Day itself. Vamizi more than delivered. The villas are a very generous size (we stayed in villa 8, for 2 people) with...

Dear Moomin2004 Thank you for your wonderful review of Vamizi. We also wish you could have stayed for longer and hope you will return! Humpback whale season is such an incredible time of year for us - the waters seem to come alive with so many different species. The spinner dolphins are always a very welcome sight. We hope you...

My wife & I stayed at Vamizi for a week in September 2014. We last visited in 2008 & came back this time with 2 friends. If you are looking for barefoot isolated luxury then this is the place for you. If you want all creature comforts (like TV & aircon) & to don a cocktail dress & high heels...

Vamizi exceeded expectations. A perfect 'get away from it all' destination. Our Kitali was vast, comfortable and perfectly situated. The food and facilities were superb. Best of all were all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Everything the website described was accurate. Nothing was too much trouble and we had the freedom to be active or to be...

This place is completely off the beaten path. Hidden somewhere off the coast of Mozambique. True barefoot luxury which allows you to play the role of Robinson Crusoe for a few days. Total seclusion. You feel as if you have the entire island to yourself - you rarely see other guests. Now I know why the Hollywood crowd is starting...

We went to Vamizi just over 8 months ago now, and my memories of the island and the happiness we felt during the time we spent there haven't faded one bit. From the moment we arrived we were in awe of the place. A place were you instantly relax and we knew from day one it was going to be...

We booked Vamizi for our honeymoon, after a week on safari. It was perfect. The beach, the ocean, the landscape, the sky. The lodge. The kitala. The staff (thank you Rob for taking such great care of us!). The diving. The fishing (Stewart & Cha are both amazing). Serenity. Peace. THE FOOD. Oh my God, the food was to die...

We just spend a week at Vamizi Island in a private villa. This is one of the best beach places we have experienced, absolute privacy, beautiful villa, good service and fantastic beach activities! All you need after a safari!
