We stayed here one night on route to Petra. The city was deserded at night, we were the only guests at the hotel. The room had a stunning view over the valley, and is located next to the entrance of the castle. The guy at the frontdesk was very friendly, even gave us his electric heater for the cold.

My husband and I stayed here and we have to say it was the worst hotel we stayed at in our two week visit to Jordan. The room smelled like mould and the carpet was wet and filthy. The huge water damage on the ceiling made us worry the floor above us might collapse. We were promised hot water but...

This Rest house has the best location in town. Karak castle is it's neighbour and ticket office just on the other side of the street. Hotel is clean. Room includes fridge, telephone and TV. Bathroom was clean too and in good condition. Low wather pressure, shampoo but no towels. Stuff is friendly and willing to help, although first contact was...

Great views that is the best I can say about this place other than if they spent some money on the rest house it could be amazing as a beautiful characteristic place if renovated. But I understand why they are not spending the money and that is because they are not getting the tourists anymore mainly because of the Syria...

We had an enforced/unplanned stay here due to a traffic accident (where we were looked after extraordinarily well by local police, tourist police, tourist department, the owner of the new hotel being built in town and numerous locals). As previous reviewers have indicated it is well past its 'sell by date'. The shame is if renovated it could be outstanding,...

Despite its perfect location next to Karak Castle, the Karak Rest House is in deplorable condition. If you want hot water(or even slightly warm water),heating,a TV that works, breakfast(supposed to be included but dining room closed until further notice)or a clean room the Rest House is not for you.Luckily,I had my subzero-rated sleeping bag with me.I loved the stunning castle and enjoyed strolling...

The view/locatioN is the ONLY redeeming quality. Horribly dirty bathroom and floors. Plaster falling from walls. Shutters banged in the wind all night. Cold breeze through the windows all night too. Would not be willing to stay here again. See my review for Al-Mujeb hotel (have stayed there twice now). Better deal if you have transportation to the castle.

We stayed here having arrived late in Karak without a booking, looked at another hotel in town which was simply filthy, and so decided to stay at the Rest House. We found it to be a dirty and dusty place, not well kept, and with shutters at the windows banging loudly in the wind keeping us awake all night. The...

Being in front of the castle is the only positive aspect of this hotel. We slept in a dirty room, the furnitures were covered in dust. Walls cracked and the bathroom was filthy. No hot water. Expensive (we paid 50jd per night per room) for Jordanian standard. Unfortunately it is one of very few options if you find yourself in...

Location is the best point as it is situated right next to the castle but it's barely a 2 star hostel. The rooms are shabby, breakfast is basic and there was no hot water when I stayed. The beds and linen were clean and it was a quiet night (probably becuase so few people overnight at Karak). I'm sure there...
