Magical. For those who have a stressful life and enjoy pure escapism I would highly recommend here. We will certainly visit again. The tranquility will stay with me. Local restuarant is excellent too and superb value for money. Owners very accommodating.

We've just returned today from our first trip to Settimo Cielo. It was very hard to leave, but we so left wanting more! It is so very difficult to put into words the magic of Settimo. We were invited on this trip by friends who caught a glimpse of it last year and booked as they were going to a...

Having spent 11 wonderful days in the aptly named 'Seventh Heaven', we cannot recommend this idyllic place enough to anyone who is looking for sheer escapism, wonderful hospitality and stunning scenery. Our holiday began with the exhilarating buggy ride from Marina's Bar (the central hub of the medieval village of Casoli) to the heady heights of 'Settimo Chielo', where we were...

The property and grounds are getting better year on year. Everything looked absolutley stunning when I returned last week. I took a five day break and didn't bother hiring a car - just sunbathed and wandered down the village to eat in the local bar. This self catering venue punches above it's weight and is fantastic value for money. Location...

I came across this place through Trip advisor, we where planing our trip to Tuscany and coming from the south up, i was looking for a place at the north. The site is an "owner direct" they have no site and the booking is made by e-mail . i must admit i was taken back a bit by Garry's very...

We have just returned to the UK after spending a week at Settimo Cielo. The property is stunning, the infinity pool is jaw droppingly beautiful and the surroundings spectacular. The property is 30 minutes from Lucca, a jewel of a city and made for shopping!! Our hosts, Roberto & Garry are kind and gracious. I would like to think we...

My family of four just got back from this Tuscan cottage in Casoli, and we could not have had a more wonderful vacation. The glowing and detailed descriptions of the previous “excellent” reviewers are all accurate, so I won’t say it all again. Expect beauty, tranquility, comfort, a fun golf cart ride up the hill with your luggage (we were...

We arrived in Casoli near Bagni di Lucca after a pretty drive from Pisa and were met by Darrell (Roberto was away). He drove us and our luggage up the hill to Settimo Cielo in their golf cart. The streets of the village can not accommodate cars, so you leave your car in the village. We met Garry, a charming...

The sun was still hot and high as we arrived in Casoli but, without warning, storm clouds created a grey roof over the valley. The mist covering the valley floor was lightened by Robbie's big smile as he welcomed us to the village and the village bar/restaurant, where we had a cool and welcome drink. Robbie then decanted our luggage...

A meet and greet with Roberto in the enchanting local square only then to be wisked away by a chariot (golf buggy) through the winding medieval village up to the gods of Casoli (Gary & Gucci). The accommadation was immaculate and the attention to detail blew us away. Relax and loose yourself in the infinity pool and sun blessed terrace...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Settimo Cielo is the highest property of the medieval village of Casoli, around 20 minutes drive from the famous spa town of Bagni di Lucca, and 40 minutes away from the beautiful city of Lucca. All the cottages are furnished with antiques and objets d'art, and feature every modern convenience. There's a 17-metre salt-water horizon pool on one of the terraces, surrounded by an olive grove and imaginative planted gardens. Just by the pool is a canvas pavilion providing welcome shade (the perfect spot for lunch or dinner), a barbecue, and a beach hut fitted with a fridge for chilled poolside drinks. For something more energetic, you can wander the fields surrounding the house, or take longer walks through the beautiful mountain forests. Marina's restaurant & bar in Casoli offers traditional Tuscan dishes and is a welcome change for guests who can stir themselves to leave the magic of Settimo Cielo. ... more   less
