I highly recommend this place to stay. I have been here for a couple of weeks on business. Great price for accommodation. Food is absolutely amazing. And all the staff are excellent. Especially a waitress Amanda even know she called me luke for the first couple of nights ha been called alot worse. The owners are fantastic hosts 2 brothers I wish I could spell their names. But they are great. Not visiting this place if you are in the area would be a mistake.

Just arrived tonight 24/10 with my uni flat mates for a little getaway before an early start at Newcastle university for an induction course. The staff offered me use of an iPhone charger as I didn’t have one! Great stuff - thank you to the bar manager x

We stayed one night at the hotel on a half board basis. The bedrooms The rooms had recently been painted and the bathroom refreshed with new tiles and sanitary ware. The shower was extremely difficult to turn the controls particularly with wet hands. The bed was lumpy and the furniture clean but old and not in keeping with the decoration. Verdict adequate but overpriced Dinner We were on a half board table de'hote menu therefore we expected a restricted menu however one of our group had allergies and asked to see the allergies list that the restaurant is required to keep by law. They checked the kitchen and they said they didn't have one but the allergies declared meant every thing on the starters, all desserts and all items bar one on mains contain foodstuffs which one of us was allergic too. There were items on the al a carte which were okay but not offered as an alternative. Both a waiter and a waitress were wearing Covid masks but pulled them down to speak to us, we asked them to replace them. The food served was edible but not of the highest quality Breakfast Signs everywhere saying wear a mask other than when seated. We were alarmed and surprised to see that breakfast was self service and guests were waling to and from the buffet without masks.

The owners couldn't have been more accommodating. We travelled for a funeral and they allowed us to check in early so we could get changed. I had also made an error on the booking which they sorted for us with no hesitation. The bed was so comfy and the room nicely decorated. Breakfast was also lovely. We would definitely stay again.

I don't think I’ve ever had a warmer welcome. All the staff went out of their way to be helpful, and one of the owners even gave me a lift on Boxing Day to save me waiting for the bus. The rooms are currently being given some TLC but are good even in their present condition. WiFi available in the restaurant but not in all the rooms. The menu is extensive and the food well cooked and presented. Portion sizes can be large. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Michaelangelo’s again next time I visit the area.
