Sadly we only had one night in this lovely Bed and Breakfast. It was incredibly tranquil and relaxing, which was just what we needed before attending a wedding the following day. Our room was perfectly laid out. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a real treat - scented oils, LED lights in the ceiling over the jacuzzi...

Thank you for such a fantastic review. It's great to know that our guests feel relaxed and comfortable. (I especially like it when they enjoy my breakfasts!) Hope you enjoyed the book buying and that we see you both again soon.

We spent one night here at the end of a short weekend in Newcastle and Northumberland, so decided to treat ourselves to a little bit of luxury by booking the Haven room. Despite being so close to the A1, the only sound you can hear is the gentle tweets of the sparrows and housemartins. Sandra and Richard were the perfect...

I only have praise for Birdsong Cottage. I have stayed in a number of B&Bs over the years, including some that call themselves "luxury" and charge ridiculous prices. Birdsong Cottage was honest, beautiful and extremely good value. The owners, Richard and Sandra, were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room, "Haven," was beautiful. All the details were fantastic - the wonderful...

Sandra and Richard are the perfect hosts and their attention to detail is outstanding. e.g. scented candles and chocolate treats, We stayed in the Swallows Rest room which is beautifully furnished, with a separate stunning bathroom, including a spa bath. Breakfast was wonderful and the fridge, drinks and treats made for a really special break. Plus good WiFi was a...

What else can I possibly say that hasn't already been said? We spent two nights in the haven, the name is very, very appropriate. After spending a month travelling Australia, my partner greeted me from the airport and whisked me straight to the birdsong cottage. After living in shabby hostels and a 24 hour flight, this place was like a...
