Our experience did not match anything that we read on trip advisor or through booking.com. The "hotel" is on the middle floor of a tower block and the other floors look either out of use or very poor. The lift does not work. We arrived to one man only in the whole place who did not speak any English (or...

I was planning to camp that one night in the region of Alaverdi, but a big thunderstorm made me look for a more secure shelter. Unfortunatly, my car didn't wanted to start anymore. After a few phonecalls the people of Debed Hotel where coming to pick me up. The woman at the reception was very friendly. I had a big...

Booked thru booking and pay cash directly upon arrival. No credit card asked. 40 euros, or so, for Two luxurious rooms, breakfast included. Alaverdi is somewhere midway between Tbilisi and Yerevan, so it makes sense to stop there a night or two to explore some world heritage rated monasteries. We like (but you may not) : - Bare and un-sexy...

If you want to spend a night in a horrible and deserted block dating back to the Soviet Union, choose this place. Debed Hotel is on the fourth floor of a devastated skyscraper that looks like a ruin. The stuff is very kind, but the cleanliness leave a lot to be desired. Don’t show surprise if you meet a cockroach....

The Hotel Debed has had a number of incarnations, Soviet Era luxury hotel and more recently abandoned relic of a previous epoch. Now, it has reopened and is on its way to being the best option in Sarahart. For independent travelers wanting to visit Sanahin and Haghpat, the Hotel Debed is a great option. It is a short easy walk...

“Ask for a room with a balcony facing south. That direction has a view of the canyon and of Sarahart. Also, Sarahart, has two well stocked supermarkets, one right next to the Hotel Debed.”
  • Rooms are simple and clean.
