We stayed here for four nights and had a wonderful time. We had the 'standard' bedroom, with all amenities we needed. No mosquitos at night, so sleeping with open windows was very nice. Bathroom was ok, but a little bit below expectations. We didn't use the spa (don't even know if it was open in Covid-times). Breakfast was served in our room and was very nice and tasty! We had dinner at the hotel twice and both times is was outstanding! Best meals of our 2 weeks trip. Last but not least, very friendly owners who helped us any way they could. The area is very nice with lots of things to visit, although we preferred just to walk and enjoy this beautiful and quiet region! All in all very nice stay and highly recommended!

Response from Tim Bell, Owner at Chabanettes Boutique Hotel & Spa

Thank you for your very kind review following your recent stay with us at Chabanettes. We were delighted to hear that, overall, you enjoyed your visit and our beautiful region. And we are deeply flattered that you rated our dining experience as the best experience you had in France. Since taking over the hotel in 2015, we have embarked upon a constant re-investment programme and have already refurbished all our bedrooms as well as the addition of our spa, terrace and whisky bar. We have nearly completed the modernisation of all our bathrooms and hope to complete this project by this winter. Hopefully on a future visit, you will be able to see the difference. Thank you again for your kind review and we look forward to hopefully welcoming you back some day soon Kind regards Ingrid and Tim, Proprietors

We're definitely going back. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The Spa is a definite to try as is the new outside area. They speak English, French and German so there is no need to worry if you don't want to practise your French.

Our second two night stay to this wonderful hotel - Ingrid and Tim make you feel so welcome and ensure your stay is a joy. Family room is so comfortable and pre dinner local G&Ts are a great start to a four course dinner cooked by Tim - regional and very seasonal - most of all delicious. Breakfast is home produced and really good. Lots to see in the region - with plenty of recommendations by the hosts. A real treat to stay there.

Spent just one night but want to return for longer. Room was excellent with good clean facilities. Plenty of parking and a VERY quiet situation. We walked 10 minutes up the road for a beautiful sunset over the Auverne Dinner was a delight. Tim's selection, preparation and presentation of local food was really well done. The 3 local cheeses, with tasting advice from Tim was spot on.....I'd come back for the cheese alone! Ingrid was a delightful host, very welcoming with just the right balance between attentiveness and unobtrusiveness. The wood burner made the dining room cosy but not stuffy...it was a lovely atmosphere & meal. Breakfast again was really well done, with local variations and fresh produce.
