The Bannister hotel has an outstanding view of the marina and the Samana Bay. Most rooms are ocean view. However, service at the hotel restaurants is poor. Visited the restaurants 6 times during my 2 night stay and there was always a problem. The severs would not take the order and make you wait for over half hour, the servers would bring you the wrong order, and most times the ticket would not reflect the order. The hotel needs to have someone with experience running both restaurants. It is a shame that a hotel with such view and location can’t handle basic services.

Lovely views but some problems that seem to be unresolved and taken lightly by the management . No hot water !!! For 4 days and told warm is acceptable ???? Run out of napkins and beach towels ? No effort to get more ...dinner was just ok short menu .. not 5 star by any standards

This hotel hotel is excellent for people looking to avoid crowds and looking for relaxation. R&R best to describe. It’s also good for people with families and if you need to park you boat or ship even better since it has a private port.

The Bannister Hotel is an excellent option particularly if you prefer a bit of peace and quiet over staying at an all included resort. The rooms are large suites with kitchenette, dining area and living room. My room had an excellent view of the marina and the Bay. The Italian restaurant, The Regatta, is good. Breakfast is included. A few minor improvements would help. The rooms could use a luggage rack as well as instructions on how to operate the air conditioning, television, etc.
