We loved our room here - it was huge, immaculate and came with a fridge, kettle, air con, comfortable bed and great shower. The wifi worked fairly well. The set up is a bit different in that all bookings are handled by the travel lodge which is next door. Sometimes it was difficult to find staff as they were split...

We booked two nights in Villa Thakhek with our family. Upon arrival they had only one room available, although we booked two. First they wanted to give us one room at the backpacker's place (Travel Lodge) and the other at the Villa, 50 metres further. Off course this was a no-go, as we were travelling with our kids. After insisting...

We arrived in the dark to do the Thakhek Loop the next morning. We hadn't booked any motorbikes yet so we were looking around. Sadly most places were closed or didn't have semi automatics left. The owner of the villa (and travel lodge) Mr. Bird said he could rent us 2 semi automatics. They were a little more expensive than...

The villa is located in a beautiful and peaceful garden. It's also a perfect place if you want to do the loop. You can rent your scooter nearby and can leave your luggage. The room looked brand new. The bed was really nice and everything was sparkling clean. The only down sites were the wifi (was basically not working) and...

Had extreme difficulty finding the joint. It's far from downtown so nowhere to eat. I booked at another place right on the Mekong River which was quite nice and had a good restaurant. Let my local driver use the room. He confirmed that I made the right decision and that the rooms were tiny even though I booked a triple...

We have been travelling for 10 months and have stayed in a lot of hotels. I have done a few reviews of hotels on TripAdvisor so I thought I should make clear what is an excellent for us, the size of the room for yoga, comfortable bed, ensuite, a/c and wifi and whether we would stay in the hotel again....

It is hard to fun this place as the sign on the main street is small and not obvious, but it's worth seeking out. Thakhek lodge doesn't look that nice but frangipani line the villa and the rooms are big (corner rooms are even larger), and they are kept super clean. I found that English of staff varies but all...

The pros: The rooms at Villa Thakhek are spectacular. We walked in and paid 150,000 kip a night (about £12) for a room that you'd be happy with in a 4 star hotel. It really was nice. The cons: The service was generally pretty lackluster, although not too bad, but what really annoyed us was when we were refused any...

Once we arrived at this location we checked out the room and extended our stay straight away to one more night. You really can relax in this room and you will find everything you need. The furniture is new, you got a desk, a/c, TV and wifi as well. There is also a minibar available. For food you have the...
