Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Calido Maris Hotel boasts a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, complete with daily poolside music and evening entertainment, although the liveliness may be overwhelming for guests seeking tranquility. Service experiences diverge; some praise the hotel's cleanliness and responsiveness, while others encounter courtesy issues with the staff.
The remote location poses a challenge for those wishing to explore, necessitating transportation for external amenities. Despite the high cleanliness standards and various pools and entertainment options, the value proposition is marred by high costs and inconsistent room quality.

Having read the previous reviews, I must say, we had a vastly different and positive experience! We found the rooms to be spotless, if you put the green maid sign on, your room was seen to, if it wasn’t, you were left alone as requested, fridges were topped up daily when green sign on, towels exchanged and bedding made.
The bar staff and dining staff were exceptional, we honestly can not thank them enough for the attentiveness and helpfulness they demonstrated, always happy to chat with you and ask how you are, always working hard and always happy to help you.
Of course the food gets repetitive, it’s a hotel, of course it’s not predominantly “English food” you’re in Turkey! The fresh salad is amazing, yes I will admit the drinks machines aren’t always turned on but there is always water to hand and some beverage available. And yes, the flys can be bothersome but the cleanliness of the hotel is great! We saw the staff deep cleaning EVERYNIGHT! The hotel isn’t that hard to navigate either!
The overall cleanliness of the hotel is very good, yes toilets by the pool can get a bit smelly and wet but they are cleaned every night.
The pools are spot on, slides are only on at certain times but there are plenty to choose from for kids and adults. There is one slide not available to children which isn’t a bad thing as you don’t have many in the queue! Only thing missing is a football pitch of some kind.
I will agree with some of the other reviews, there isn’t a great deal around the area… the taxi to the market is 12 euros, the market is huge, make sure you barter as you will always be “special first customer”. There isn’t anywhere that is in walking distance but if you did your research, you knew this already.
Overall we really enjoyed the stay, 11 nights all inclusive with 2 nights in the restaurant, we honestly believe it is the bar staff and kitchen staff that help make this place as good as it is 10/10 for those guys.
Best tip I could give is to learn a little bit of Turkish, it really does go a long way, also, take Euros or Sterling. Lira is pretty much dead out there now.

Was not looking forward to coming after reading the reviews 😳 we go home tomorrow and we really don’t want to. The staff are amazing they honestly can’t do enough for you , and most do speak English . Not many English families but everyone we met was lovely. The food was great even though I’m very fussy we never went hungry. The pool is amazing and the slides are lots of fun. The shop downstairs is very expensive so I’d try and take what you need. You can book trips with the reps at reception id recommend the jeep safari it’s a whole day but honestly amazing. By the front door is a switch to let them know you want your room cleaning if you don’t press it don’t get cleaned but I think they are respecting you’re privacy . The hotel is far out from places but you can get the bus we didn’t feel the need to go out apart from the trips we booked. Lovely evening entertainment, not rowdy just lots of families having a lovely time. The lads by the pool are great with doing lots of activities , they invited my son out to a club and even rang our room to remind him. Don’t be put off by the previous reviews please book up you won’t be disappointed ❤️

Calido Maris reviews made my heart sink but here are my thoughts. Aesthetically beautiful, our rooms were beautiful so clean maid everyday all smiles and cheery. We had 2 rooms with interconnecting door. 1 double 1 twin with pool and sea view. Couldn't have asked for any changes was perfect. Whole hotel clean and whilst very few English guests literally we met only 3 other English families we were understood ok. The entertainment through day as you expect aqua aerobics, zumba, yoga, darts , water games, beach volleyball and evening had kids disco then show at 9.30pm every night. Very little English spoken by compare but shows were good.
Food now this was never hot enough for me but there was a microwave. I'm a picky eater so struggled as a vegitarian and thing never labelled well. What you expect soups , breads, salad, meats, cheese then buffet style hot choices but never actually hot. I found the pizza oven outside hot and fresh so that was mine most night choice. The alacarte restaurant was poor and not in the slightest Italian as it was supposed to be no choice your served what they bring everyone same so not great. Drinks at bar spirits they serve extra large measures not nice to drink so had to say every time small vodka otherwise you got a half pint lol. Cocktail choices were paid. I tool my own tea bags as no english option but hot chocolate and cappuccino were good . There are a few shops in hotel but nothing outside to walk too. We paid £23 to go into Side each way and caught the bus for £3 for 4 people to manvagat market which is on a Thursday kids were happy to find a McDonald's there. Haggle literally they start at £30 you end up at 10 or 15.
We booked trips from rep in reception turkish bath was not great the one in the hotel much better stay there for that we did both and one outside hotel cheaper but not worth it. Scuba diving trip was excellent. The quad bikes great but over an hour there and then back so took all day really for hour driving quads. Jet ski on beach £50 euro for 10mins pricey . We did it and enjoyed but a little steep cost. We took lira to find they use euro mostly everywhere although took english everywhere too. They prefer cash to card but do take card. We found staff smiling and although spoke no english so tricky they were happy to try to help. Pool table was payable also. The water slides are only on set times in the day not all the time and indoor pool was closed all week and I couldn't see that it ever opened. We took 2 teenagers and our family of 4 had a great time and made memories. Only thing it being in middle of 2 towns Side one way and Alanya other pricey to get out hotel nothing walkable at all. You will need £50+ to get taxis out.

I read the reviews after I booked this holiday, they are very unfair, the hotel was spotless all the staff are friendly and can’t do enough.
The entertainment team was always friendly and helpful going out of their way for you.
The cleaners cleaned the rooms daily leaving us hearts or swans on the bed, with fresh water in the fridge daily.
The bar staff was always helpful an never stopped, the waiters would know our drinks and bring them over during our meals or while relaxing in the lobby.
The pools are fantastic, I honestly can not say a bad thing about this hotel everyone and everything was perfect, even had my daughter on the stage singing my children can’t wait to go back you all definitely deserve the 5 stars.

this hotel has very nice rooms. and that's where it ends. at 5 * hotels you expect towels for the pool and the beach, cotton pads and ear sticks, glass glasses for dinner and wifi included. this hotel didn't have one. wifi was paid 2 € per day for each device. so prepare € 42 extra for a week on 3 phones. Wine was terrible, eat was not so yummy, few fiah and no seafood… we were very disappointed…

Overall I would say this is a 4* / 4.5* hotel not 5* and these are the reasons. The bad reviews are unfair from what we experienced - We are a family of 5, 2 adults 3 children.
Good points:
- Clean, there is always someone cleaning and any mess highlighted was very quickly cleaned up
- Plenty of different bars and snack options, There were plenty of options to choose from, there is something for everyone and it was always good quality
- Entertainment, there was also more than 2 or 3 activities each day and the staff were always around. There is a show every night.
- Plenty of room, there was no issue with getting sunbeds and with the size and amount of pools it never felt crowded.
Room for improvement:
- Al a carte menus, the kids are restricted to one dish which meant we didn't eat in them as they had more options in the main restaurant.
- Rooms on -1, the corridors don't have windows or aircon so can get very stuffy and smell. Also, towards the back of the hotel room 1967 onwards seem to have a drainage issue. Our first room we were allocated had a musty smell and the shower drain made loud popping / gurgling sounds every 15 mins... this was dealt with very quickly and we were allocated a different room.
- Power cuts, we experienced around 5 or 6 small power cuts during our stay... nothing major but happened often... not sure if this due to the area / heat or just this hotel.
- Location, there is not much around apart from the shop (Kent market) a 5 mins walk up the hill. If you like to go for a walk to different places, this isn't the hotel for you. There is a bazaar and places to eat about a 7 mins taxi drive away ( we paid 15 euros )
Currency - We took both Liar and Euros - if you are paying cash Euros is better.
This was a decent place but not somewhere we would go back to but we don't tend to re-visit the same place.

We arrived at the hotel around 8pm local time and we checked in and left our bags before heading down to the restaurant where there was barely anything left. We couldn’t find any cups to have a drink in and when I asked a member of staff they asked if I was English and when I replied yes they started laughing and joking with the other four or five staff members before turning around and walking off! They were visibly rude and this was just the beginning.
The room we booked for two adults and two children was made up with a large double bed a single bed and a sofa with a folded sheet laid on top of it! When we questioned where our daughter would sleep we were told this is the standard room and if our child wanted a bed we should have booked a family room! Why on the beach allowed us to book a room without enough beds is beyond me but when I asked for a change to the room the women on reception was once again very rude and unhelpful! I even said I would pay but apparently she wouldn’t know until the morning if there was a room available even though she wouldn’t even look on the computer.
The food was barely edible most of the time, cold and sloppy. No fresh grilled food at dinner and breakfast was awful! We were asked if we wanted a drink on one occasion during our week stay and all the rest of the time we had to hunt for a clean cup! The fruit juice machine was always out of juice and just poured weak basically water!
The bars were full of staff who understood no English! We tried pointing at the cocktail menu (which was non existent) and the only alcohol they seemed to have was vodka and banana rum! Pushy Russian and German guests were always served first in every area of the hotel and there was no catering for English guests at all!
On our first night a young boy was violently sick in the lobby and the staff behind the bar stood and laughed amongst themselves whilst the poor mum tried to sort him out!
When we came to check out there was no one there to hand our room keys to and there were numerous people waiting and ringing the bell including taxi drivers but no one came! We ended up crossing our own name off the list and taking a picture of our key on the desk incase we were charged… the service was dreadful from start to finish!
Terrible hotel and on our first trip to turkey it has put us right off returning which is a shame because I know others have said it’s lovely. If you’re English avoid this hotel at all costs it’s terrible!
The only positives are the pool and slides are good and the weather was beautifully warm and sunny.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Hands down the most depressing place I’ve visited first family holiday with my first born and partner no entertainment unless you want to get bit by mozzys and watch people speak in different languages, does not cater for the English food entertainment or language they are all rude spent all year saving for this holiday all to have to buy more on top for things like WiFi and cocktails when it’s what we thought we’d paid for you can’t even go up and watch TV if your English unless you want to watch the news, it’s 10:30 at night and we are all sat round a table with no music on in the corner because no one speaks our language the only good thing is the up keep of the rooms thanks to the maids who actually smile at you.
There is no signs in this hotel of where anything is you just have to get in the lift and hope for the best it took us 5 days to figure out the layout.
The food is questionable I had broccoli for breakfast at one point which was from the night before.
Don’t take lira because they all use euro and make sure you check exchange rate before you buy because they will take the mick.
Hotels tour guide took us too the boat trip in a dusty old van looked like something from Jurassic park 1 he ran a red light and was on his phone while driving 70 on the causeway nearly had heart failure holding my 1 year old.
IF YOUR ENGLISH don’t come here it is horrendous and boring trust me when I say I’ll be doing you a favour.
Good pool though shame it takes 5 lifeguards to figure out how to scoop out a floater.
Never again

Just got home from the most amazing week at this hotel. For anyone worried from negative reviews please be assured you will have the best time. The negative reviews must be expecting Hilton hotels at holiday inn prices!
For a low cost all inclusive hotel you can’t go wrong. everywhere was clean, the rooms was amazing, water slides gave the kids hours of fun.
Food was as expected in any all inclusive. Some dishes us Brits are not used to but still tasty if willing to try. Rice, chips and chicken nuggets everyday for the really fussy eaters to survive on. We avoided the salads and ice ect incase washed in there water and this worked well as a family of four not one of us got a bad belly. We had a really enjoyable week and would definitely recommend the hotel.
Hint for families with older children
We upgraded to connecting rooms, I would definitely recommend this if you have older children/teens it was a great set up and gave us all privacy when needed.

We stayed here for 10 days and i write this on our last day. I'd like to give great recognition to the staff for providing great service and manners, especially the regular guys on the bars, the 2 ladies on the guest relations desk, the guys regularly on the front desk, and the entertainment guys you see on a night and round the pool daily. I cant remember everyones names so would rather not miss some by naming others.
Best tip for food would be the grill to the right of the pool but theres variety everywhere. Reserve a sunbed early, go to breakfast early, and go to dinner later to avoid the busier times, theres no worry about food running out later on. Our room was cleaned every day and service at the bars was very quick 90 percent of the time, were here while the euros are playing so the bar did get busy then but the guys all work really hard. If this hotel was located closer to the airport I'd say it would cost a lot more. On that note guest relations will call happily call you a taxi into Side for around 30 euros at about 30 mins drive. Our airport transfer said it would take 2.5 hours but actually took 1.5 with multiple drop offs.
Music around the pool every day which isn't too loud unless you're right by the speakers. Plenty places to get food and drink from all day. If you're happy to stay in the hotel ( we really enjoyed it and I usually can't stay put on holiday), entertainment and music every night and I highly reccomend the fusion show if you can see it.
The beach is a pebble beach, with sand in the sun lounger area infront of the beach bar, but the tide is stronger than most places and the bottom drops quickly, but with multiple pools theres always plenty of room as long as you get a sun bed early.
If you're OK with the location which is a little out of the way I highly reccomend you consider this hotel, and thank you to all the staff who made our stay so good.
It isnt 5 star, but you cant book 5 star for this money, we got much more than we expected.
If management read this and know which staff were on from the 1st to 10th of July, please pass on our compliments.
