A lovely traditional pub, open fire, friendly staff an homely food. Three of us had steak pie and chips and the meal was excellent, the pie was full of juicy well cooked steak without too much pastry, a perfect pub lunch. The fourth person in our party had the gammon and only left some of their meal due to the...

This was our third stay at The Shoulder and Lynn and all of her staff deserve full marks for consistency. They are always so friendly, helpful and customer focused with nothing being too much trouble (and their regulars are welcoming too). Adding in the great food and location means this is well and truly going to be a regular venue...

Came in on a Wednesday night having spent 3 days staying in Bradwell. This was an excellent way to end our trip because the food was great. I had a 12oz Sirloin which was perfectly cooked medium (Just like I asked for it). My brother had the steak and ale pie which was also apparently excellent. Service was great and...

We are delighted you ladies enjoyed your stay. It was a real pleasure and we are delighted you chose to spend your weekend with us here at The Shoulder of Mutton. The plumbing in this old building is sometimes temperamental but mostly the water is hot and plentiful. My apologies for the lack of juice. There is always a good...

Stayed at many bed and breakfasts in Derbyshire and this has to be the best and will definitely be coming back. Such a great atmosphere. Food was amazing, real home cooked. Really felt welcomed upon arrival. Highly recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed.

Had a lovely overnight stay on our way to Scotland for a friends wedding. We arrived too early for check in but luckily for us the lovely landlady was around to check us in early. She showed us to our room which was clean and warm. Just what we needed after a long drive. We had a fab home cooked...

Visiting the Peak District, booked two nights in this B&B. The atmosphere makes you feel at home, we had a room with a balcony overlooking the church - a very pretty view. The room was compact but had all we needed. It was pretty convenient also to have a good pub-restaurant right downstairs.

This is a very friendly and very cosy B&B. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. A warm family feel about the place. The breakfast was delivered in a friendly café-style environment and the host & hostess were very attentive and the fare was exceptional, the full English breakfast was exactly what it says, 'Full English'. The tea, coffee and...
