Negatives - tissue dispenser instead of toilet paper, no heat control on shower, toilet full of urine on arrival, housekeeping only every other day, extractor fan broken, smell of waste pipes in corridor, kitchen utensils need to be cleaned before being used, food stolen in spite of leaving it where requested, much confusion over booking, staff not that friendly, over-priced...

Stayed here for a few days in December, close to the winter solstice. En-suite with a bath, I found the lodge to be quiet and homely. The is net-access at reception, handy for checking bus-times to and from the lodge etc. Newgrange is close-by. The quadrangular courtyard is unique - the layout of the lodge is unusual. Large window panes...

When We asked a friend what we shouldn't miss in Ireland, Newgrange was at the top of her list. With the winter solstice coming, it was the perfect time to visit. It's a 5000 year old archeological masterpiece; older than the pyramids! Thrilling experience for the visitor. Only wish Knowth was open when we visited. How had we not heard...

We booked this place as a cheap place to stay for the night after Slane (when Foo Fighters were the headline act). We were booked in fine and were able to leave our stuff there okay and didn't have any trouble there at first everything seemed to be in order. They arranged travel to Slane for us from the lodge...

Good place to stay and very friendly accommodating staff . Free car parking and plenty of spaces. It is a great place to stay if your going to visit New Grange or the Battle of the Boyne .The only negative was the bathroom could do with a dusting but it is clean.

I've taken groups of students from Cork to newgrange and stayed at newgrange Lodge over the past five years. It is an ideal location for secondary students as its safe with no distractions. The dorms are ideal with plenty of space. The rec room has a TV while there is a pool table and courtyard area for students to relax...

Staff were good. I know it is advertised as hostel/lodge but youth hostel is more appropriate. Good location to visit tombs. Noisiest place we have ever stayed at. I like having a good time too, but whistling to your mates up the corridor at 4.00am is a bit late. Who puts bamboo flooring on a walkway in front of sleeping...

We stayed for one night on the 8th and was sent to a first floor room around the back. Brushed away the cob webs from the door way and entered. The room was OK until we got to the bathroom. The tile floors by the shower had mold on the grout and tile and going up the wall about a...

We took a couple of days over Heritage week to visit the historic sites of County Meath. Made alot of sense to book the Lodge as it was located across the road from the entrance to the Newgrange and Knowth reception area. We got a family room for 6 of us. Fairly basic as you'd expect with a Hostel, but...
