Myself and my husband went for Sunday lunch to Daly’s. There were no waitresses on, just two barmen. After a while we approached the bar to ask to order food. We ordered one roast beef & one turkey & ham dinner. The food arrived without vegetables or mash, just the meat & chips. No mention of veg on the way. We waited for a few minutes, then asked the barman for the mash & veg. Out came a bowl of veg that we have never ever seen look so unappetising. It looked a few days old. Completely inedible. We handed back the veg untouched as soon as we got the barman’s attention again.. A few mins later out came a bowl of mash. We had nearly finished our meal so politely refused it. On payment we were charged full price €16 per meal. It took convincing to reduce the price and €2 was taken off both meals. Awful experience. Massively disappointing. Will never return. …
We dropped in for something to eat On Friday evening. The restaurant is temporarily closed and food is served in the bar. This is not a problem as the bar is very well set up to cater for food. However, we were sitting for about 10 minutes before we were approached by a waitress and asked if we wanted to order food. The food itself was nice enough but not once after we received the food were we approached to see if the food was ok or if anything else was needed! We decided to leave after we had finished our main course as once again we were not asked if we wished to order desserts. We eventually got the bill from the barman. All in all the waitressing services left a lot to be desired considering it was not busy, just another 3 people eating!!
Myself and my partner stayed here as he was playing in a pitch and putt championship nearby. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They put on the NZ Vs ireland rugby match for us at breakfast. The bar had a great atmosphere and served lovely pints. The locals and the staff had great chat and were very welcoming. The food was really good especially the burgers. Check in was efficient and although the room was basic it was very clean and suited us perfectly. Daly's is in a great location for visiting Newgrange and Slane
Dropped in to Daly's for lunch. Got signed in and sanitized our hands and were shown to our table. As pointed out in a previous review by another reviewer the waitress was wearing a mask but it did not cover her nose. I am not saying it is the same lady but obviously the point was not taken seriously since the previous review. Food was quite good with amply portions. We had a Chicken burger and chips and a Chicken wrap and chips (€16 each) which is ok if you are out for dinner but expensive for a lunch menu. The day we were there we were the only people eating a meal everyone else had a soup & sandwich. This should tell management that there is a problem with their pricing. With €5.20 for a pint of Coors and €6.00 for a 1/4 bottle of wine the bill with tip came to almost €50.00. As I said expensive for lunch for 2.…
Really friendly staff, very hospitable great food and a lovely bar.Stayed a few nights for work, normally stay in a chain hotel with no atmosphere this is much better.Clean and tidy room, enjoyed the experience. If I go over there again I would definitely try and book into Daly’s again.
We arrived here short notice after our holiday plans went belly up. That owner tony was great very friendly the staff at the inn were amazing they were extremely welcoming friendly and warm all the staff were like 1 big family. We arrived with children ageing from 3-19 there was something for them all there’s a min bus taxi service available who took us to locations recommended by the staff (red mountain farm) and (carlingford activity centre) which had a large range of activities. We had 3 children with autism and the staff and customers were great with them. We also had my nephew who has a savers nut allergy that the chef and kitchen staff catered to our entire stay. Staff amazing hospitality shown was amazing and the food was outstanding all round an amazing place if u want to have a good time where children are allowed to be just that children we will be back again soon HIGHLY RECOMMEND…
Called to Dalys for lunch on Wednesday Sept 30th. Signed in and sanitised the hands so a good start? Waitress/barlady/cook was wearing a mask but not civering her nose so not good. Food was appalling, when you see chicken fillet burger on the menu you expect to see an actual chicken fillet? A piece of frozen southern fried chicken, most likely from Aldi, arrived!!! Tge floor was so dirty my shoes were sticking to it and there was old food on the floor too. Very little social distancing among regulars at the bar which made it uncomfortable. So a 1 for tge sign in sheet and hand sanitiser. Btw it was €14 for the aforementioned piece of frozen food from Aldi
If you like a few pints then there are no pubs to go to. The only option is to have food. Not pub food really. I have never eaten here before the restrictions But the food is excellent A little gem in the middle of the pandemic Great Chef Simple menu Not pub food But served in a nice pub 👍 😉
I have not been to Daly's in years and what a really tasty lunch we had here today. My partner had a Roast Beef dinner and said the beef was so tasty. The veg and mash where cooked excatly how I wanted them. Very friendly and helpful Staff. We will be back. Looking for a nice Sunday lunch I would recommend trying here.
