The house itself has been beautifully restored. Each bedroom has a unique style and theme. The bathrooms are not ensuite, but Susanna does assign specific baths to specific rooms so it was not an issue. Susanna is an amazing hostess. She is so warm and witty. She made high tea for us on arrival and never stopped being incredibly helpful... More

The location is a short walk from the ferry terminal. What makes this B & B is the charming and welcoming personality of the host. The rooms are very quaint, but the real reason to book here is the warmth of the place.

Charming, disarmingly beautiful and wonderfully comfortable are the words that come to our mind when we think back on our 3 day stay in elegant and historic Pension 44. Susanna gave us the best welcome pot of tea and cake, setting the scene for her exemplary hospitality throughout our time in Aero. This fairytale island is not to be missed. We're... More

Pension Vestergade captures everything that is wonderful and magical about Ærø. The building is more than 200 years old. It sags and creaks, but is oozing with history and charm. The same can be said for Ærøskøbing, the charming old fishing village where this property is located. Despite it's age, this bed and breakfast is exceedingly comfortable & well-furnished. The... We chose to stay at Vestergade 44 for our wedding in Aeroskobing and it was the best decision we could have made! While planning the wedding, I looked through the list of the rooms and immediately fell in love with the design of the Karnappen room in light blue and white colours. It just perfectly suited the style of our... More

My wife and I just had the most pleasant stay at Pension Vestergade 44. The old inn is exceedingly cozy and beautifully preserved. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well appointed. The back garden is absolutely lovely. Susanna, the hostess, is exceedingly warm and helpful and made our stay exactly what we were hoping for.

My husband and I were married on Ærø, and we and our families stayed with Susanna. We knew to expect amazing hospitality from a previous trip to the pension, but Susanna went above and beyond to ensure our stay was absolutely perfect. Amazing attention to detail and thoughtfulness, in beautiful surroundings, and with delicious food - as always. Thank you,... More

This b&b is one of the best I've stayed in. The house dates to 1784, which you feel throughout. The furnishing is warm and cozy, and the rooms are light and spacious and clean. The location is perfect of you're arriving on the ferry and it's also a perfect point to cycle to all other villages on the island.

We spent five night at this wonderful B&B in May and had a fantastic time. The hospitality and service was second to none and Susanna really made us feel at home. Not only did she prepare a delicious breakfast but she also gave us a lot of hints and tips on what to explore during the day. And we also... More

I’m not sure if you can book this B&B during the summer since it is occupied by Rick Steves tour groups. If you can get a booking at a time when a tour group is not staying there, I highly recommend this B&B. Just looking at the art work alone is worth the price. The home is loving furnished and...
