At the end of 3 months travelling in Indonesia this hotel had everything to relax and enjoy. Very spacious well furnished room with balcony facing the volcano of opposite island of Tidore, nice bathroom. I mentioned to the manager I was astonished not to have found cloves in the markets, most wanted good of these "Spice Islands", which paid for the beautiful houses in Amsterdam. To find out which spice I meant he came back from the kitchen with a small plate with a selection of spices. A lady of the staff later brought me not only the desired cloves but also the very attractive fruits of her nutmeg tree. And they smiled and were happy to help me. Perfect stay with personal touch!
Still the biggest and the highest rank hotel in Ternate. Yet, the rooms need refurbish. Old and worn out tables, chairs and some more other room facilities. The staffs are honest and trustworthy. A friend of mine forgot his laptop bag with some cash on it at the lobby lounge only to realize he forgot it in the following morning. He then got his bag back include its content.
The Dafam passes for the best hotel on the beautiful island of Ternate, and it may well have been great when it opened. However, time has taken a heavy toll. While the rooms are a nice size and provide in theory, everything you'd need for a comfortable stay, everything feels old. The carpets everywhere are threadbare, smelly and dirty. The towels are old. The bathroom fittings are falling to pieces. There are mosquitoes everywhere. It's clear that the hotel is worn out for a reason: on weekends, they have promotions to attract families looking for a good time and to enjoy the pool and they're very successful at filling rooms up. The pool and breakfast areas get crowded and there is a huge mess. The fact that the whole place lacks maintenance makes things worse. As for the staff, their attitude differs considerably, mostly along age lines. The young enthusiastic staff at housekeeping and front desk try to be helpful. So do the people who are given the thankless task of keeping the pool clean (many guests go into the the water fully dressed). The older staff clearly feels entitled and couldn't care less. On the whole, this was a rather disappointing experience. If you must stay, avoid the weekends when it gets way too crowded.…
Hotel is very average, it needs maintainance. Some rooms don't have a refrigerator. The food and drinks are very expensive! Breakfast is ok, don't come too late because you will find empty plates. Swimmingpool is ok. Staff manager is very nice.
The best hotel in Ternate City, with extraordinary natural scenery. The entry access is facing the sea landscape which every morning presents the beauty of the rising sun. The receptionist is friendly and always smiles at guests. The room is clean and comfortable to rest after a full day of activities. #batulocalguides #lestguide
Summary: They allow us early check in (10 am) which we appreciated Dirty room (towels, bed sheets, with visible stains, dusty floors, rusty bathroom knobs, unpolished toilet and sink bowl) Service sucks (we asked a towel change and it took me 2 calls and an hour of wait) We asked for a bucket of ice, and it came only after 2 calls and an hour of wait Breakfast is so so.. wouldnt stay there again, would find a cleaner hotel
This hotel is good for Ternate and has a good view. But the staff not helpful. They gave room with totally no view. Many cockroaches in the room. Many mosquito every evening and at night. Staff not good work for clean rooms, because we found in be room some clothes from the last guests.
first of all the room is far from clean! dust here and there! old carpet! if you are alregic to dust, the you should avoid this hotel! but the food ordered from room service is okay! breakfast is average! hotels staff gave me the wrong key when i checked in. and took me 30 menutes plus to enter the room! well, it is just another hotel!
This is not my first time staying at this hotel. The GM are very helpful and humble. Bapak Azy is also helpful and also Bapak Jabir. They Booked well my room. I like staying here since the AC is cool, the room is clean, only the net connection is a little bit problem. But for all is good. Noted for all the concierge mas iwan and mas Saiful are helpful, Mr. Anu Bakar should be trainned again as FO not suitable also mbak Wina should traiined again. But Mbak Claudia as trainning student is very good in handling quest. Bapak GM should improving Human Capacity there. But for room is excellent. I will come back again
Grand Defam ticks all boxes if you just want a standard 4 star business style hotel offering associated facilities eg restaurant, pool, gym, spa etc. Rooms are clean and staff friendly although check in / out is slow and inefficient. Built on the side of the volcano it has great views down to the harbour. The a la carte menu was extensive and tasty. If you want to try somewhere with more character however consider Villa Ma’Rasai - see seperate reviews.........
